Five years ago, the Machida massacre took the lives of his parents. Now, Ranmaru Shindo and his younger sister are alone. After graduating from Japan's police academy, Ranmaru is assigned to Tokki - The Special Mobile Investigation Troops First Division in the hopes of solving the Machida mystery and avenging his parents' death.

But Ranmaru has been having dreams of a girl holding a giant sword and on the day of his graduation, he finally meets her. Sakura Rokujo is a member of Tokko, Special Mobile Investigation Troops Second Division, a secret MIB-style police task force to kill the demons responsible for the Machida massacre. Ranmaru joins up with Sakura to destroy the beasts that killed his parents and have targeted him for death.

This is Tokko, a new anime release from Manga Video. Based on the manga by Tohru Fujisawa, Tokko is a supernatural anime thriller that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Interestingly, Tokko actually was a special police task force, established in 1911 in Japan. It was designed to investigate and control certain political groups and those with ideologies that were considered "dangerous" by the government. By 1936, Tokko had arrested thousands of people, their convictions based on statements coerced by their captors while they were in custody. Tokko was abolished in 1945.

Although Tokko has not officially been rated, the anime does contain considerable blood, violence, gore and mature themes so parental guidance is strongly encouraged. Tokko will hit your favorite anime shelves on March 27, 2007. You can [link urlhttp://erclk.about.com/?zi=1/vIS]grab your copy here.
