LAS VEGAS – Sony debuted its newest PlayStation Vita shooter, Unit 13, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012). Shipping on March 6, the game offers 36 missions playable in single player or co-op, along with dynamic versions of those missions; plus nine HVT missions to unlock and share via near; six different operatives; 10 levels per operative that unlock new abilities, weapons and equipment; plus the daily challenge missions and leaderboards for all 36 single player and co-op missions. LAS VEGAS – Baseball started early at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012).  Sony Computer Entertainment America featured its first PS Vita sports title, MLB 12 The Show, at its booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The latest installment of the number-one selling and rated Major League Baseball game franchise introduces cross-platform gameplay. Gamers who own both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game can use the cloud to save and progress through the game’s options. LAS VEGAS – Last year, NVIDIA made a big splash at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with its Tegra 2 technology. This year, the chip maker has Tegra 3 chips in hot new tablet devices, including the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime – one of a growing number of convertible devices that were shown through CES 2012. NVIDIA and Asus show off a new $250 Tegra 3 tablet during the NVIDIA press conference in the video below.

There's a rule of thumb that if you make a good survival horror game, you set the standard for what future types of games should follow -- and that's been proven with Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Dead Space and so forth.  But it's also said that an awful one can set its own standard, one that developers should avoid at all costs.  And sadly, we already have such a game two weeks in 2012 with AMY, a game that gets absolutely everything so wrong, dying seems like a better alternative.

Getting back from CES, I expected my return to normalcy to be a little easygoing.  But then I hit this link over on one of my favorite sites and got introduced to the latest project from Stern Pinball -- a table based on the band AC/DC.  And, yep, next thing I knew, I was blaring "Back In Black" on my iTunes and wondering if this could be a possible revival in good old-fashioned rock n' roll pinball revival.

We're as much of a fan of James Bond as the next guy who likes his Q gadgets, but we can't help but think what a bummer it is that some of the best films in the series, like Goldeneye and (dare we argue) Octopussy aren't available yet on Blu-Ray format, the way they were meant to be seen.  But MGM rectified that this week at the Consumer Electronics Show when it made an announcement at Panasonic's booth regarding a special collector's edition set, due for release this year.

The cloud gaming folks at OnLive may not have a booth on the show floor, but it's certainly leaving its mark at the Consumer Electronics Show.  It has announced a partnership not only with Google TV, but also with Razer, in an attempt to bring its gaming services to more devices, other than the PC, MicroConsole and, most recently, iOS and Android devices.

With its upcoming "XL Edition" set to hit the finish line on January 17th, it's full speed ahead for Gran Turismo 5, even a year well after its release.  Sony Computer Entertainment of America and Polyphony Digital continue to cook up content for the much-heralded racing game, and this week at CES, it announced two additional download packs, set to drop in the next couple of weeks.
