Scranton, Lackawanna County - Chances are you've heard of a flash mob, but what about a cash mob?
It's the new trend hitting businesses in Lackawanna County.
People are organizing by Facebook to support small businesses once a week.
On Wednesday, the Bella Faccias! Bistro in downtown Scranton was the focus of a cash mob at 1:00 PM.
People came to check out the store and spend money.
"When they started to come in the door, it was almost, it's overwhelming," owner JoAnn Marianelli-Finnerty said. "It's almost like a First Friday where there's nobody and then there's everybody."
"I think it's a great idea just to get people out. It's kinda a community feeling but also to give back to the businesses in the area," Julie Cohen of Scranton said.
Organizers of the "cash mob" have set-up a facebook page to help generate interest in the idea.
