At E3, I took a Nintendo booth tour. I saw the Wii U, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Kid Icarus--the list goes on. The one title that stood out to me, that I still wanted some hands-on time with was Super Mario 3D Land. I am the 99% that likes MOST Mario-themed game and salivates every time a new title hits a system. So that’s why when I was only able to sample a few levels in the new platformer--I wanted, nay, I needed to play more.

Whenever you take a vacation, it’s something you roll on the dice on.  It could be that perfect getaway to Maui, or that nightmarish trip to your sister’s house in Hoboken.  But then there’s the sheer thought that you can’t afford a vacation at all, especially with the tough economy that’s going on these days.  With that, Namco Bandai has an affordable little alternative with Go Vacation, a game that, like Wii Sports Resort before it, tries to temporarily take you away to paradise, where numerous mini-games and unlockable goodies await.  Though this game isn’t as polished (or, oddly enough, as varied) as Resort, it’s worth punching a ticket for if you’re looking for local multiplayer fun.

Though, honestly, you've probably never thought about any of these things. On the off-chance you have, wonder no longer, because teen gossip magazine Wolf Rhythm has interviewed one of the characters of Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom, the upcoming otome game from Aksys.

The Sims is without a doubt one of the most unique gaming experiences a player can experience on any platform. Who doesn’t love to make a virtual person who is exactly like themselves? The games have gone from PC to console and back to PC again. Needless to say I am a console gamer and missed the franchise for years until EA finally released the Sims 3 for gameing systems. So what’s with all this talk about The Sims Social?

Wipeout: In the Zone is a Kinect game from Activision based on a game show of the same name. The game seeks to let folks at home attempt the show's obstacle courses from the comfort of their living room and alongside friends and family. At a recent hands-on demo, I went in with no expectations and left somewhat intrigued.

Most "must play" titles are those that cost around $60 price range, or $30, give or take, if we're talking portable games. To be sure, a price tag is a sign that the developer is confident their product is worth your money, but there are a number of small, indie developers who put out free games, and sometimes those games can be just as worthwhile as those you have to pay for. We now take a look at five free games everyone should play.

The Amazing Jaredini sees into your future Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do. Well, I guess it is not actually the future--kind of today, as I was playing you on my Xbox 360 Kinect. I put your disc into my Xbox 360, did my embarrassing Kinect body waggling and was introduced to Barker, the head carny in my Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do adventure, who to my disappointment is not related to Bob Barker whatsoever.

Although overall videogame sales have been down seven of the last eight months compared to the record-breaking 2008, games are still the driving force in entertainment, as well as electronics and toys today. The $550 million, five-day haul that Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 raked in – the largest entertainment launch in history -- shows the power of interactive entertainment even amidst the tough economic climate.
