Big Games of 2011: Mass Effect Franchise Gets Animated with New Movie

With BioWare developing one of the big games of 2011, Mass Effect 3, Electronic Arts has cut a deal with FUNimation Entertainment to create an anime feature film based on the bestselling franchise. Tokyo-based anime and international feature film production company T.O Entertainment has signed on as a co-producer on the video. Based on the Mass Effect universe, the anime video will tell the tale of an epic science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life and mysterious, uncharted planets. Production of the Mass Effect anime movie has already begun. Digital and home video releases are scheduled for the summer of 2012. Actress Jennifer Hale, the voice of Commander Shepard in the game series, talks about her role in this exclusive video interview.

Big Games of 2011: Felicia Day Stars in New Bioware “Dragon Age: Redemption” Web Series

One of the big games of 2011 is getting its own Web series. Dragon Age II, the new role-playing game (RPG) from BioWare and Electronic Arts, will be supported by a six-part online Web series called “Dragon Age: Redemption.” This all-new series is based in the Dragon Age universe and created by Felicia Day, the "Buffy the Vampire Hunter" actress and  force behind the blockbuster web series “The Guild.” Scheduled to premiere this summer, “Dragon Age: Redemption” is set in the same time period as BioWare’s Dragon Age II. Big Games of 2011: Insomniac Games Returns to the Battle in Resistance 3

One of the big games of 2011 is being developed in Burbank, California at Insomniac Games. The game is set in an alien-occupied America. The action takes place four years after the epic conclusion of Resistance 2. Dishonorably discharged Sentinel Joseph Capelli is in hiding from the invading Chimeran menace with a pocket of survivors, including his new wife and young son. But when Dr. Fyodor Malikov arrives with a desperate plan, he sets into motions the events of Resistance 3.
