When it released for consoles late last year, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 marked some notable improvements over the original, including better fighting balance, extra modes (Galactus!) and the inclusion of some great new characters, such as Phoenix Wright (doesn't even fight, just shuffles papers and unleashes the ULTIMATE SECRETARY) and Ghost Rider.  Those who may have missed out on it, though, will have another chance to check it out, this time on the portable front, as UMVC 3 is set to arrive this month for PlayStation Vita.

Consoles and PC's have had a slow month interms of new AAA quality games arriving for your respected platform. While January got off to a slow start, it quickly recovered to bring us high quality tittles through digital distribution. Plenty of great downloadable arcade tittles were made available through XBLA, PSN and Steam, giving us many hidden gems on the digital marketplace. Let's look back at the games we reviewed over the past month.

When you think "Batman" and "video game", you usually think of something dark, foreboding and completely involving, like last year's stellar release of Batman: Arkham City.  But you don't really think shooter, nor anything that goes tongue firmly in cheek, do you?  That's why it's so fascinating to see Monolith, the developers behind the F.E.A.R. series, go against type and create a game like Gotham City Impostors.  Not only is it something you'd never expect from the DC Comics Universe, but, holy rusted metal Batman, it's actually fun.

When SoulCalibur IV came out a few years ago for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, some players were disappointed by the series' jump to next-gen, even with the addition of nifty Star Wars characters.  (C'mon, Darth Vader versus Mitsurugi was pretty damn epic.)  But luckily, Namco realizes that some better balancing was needed, and SoulCalibur V brings it in spades, between some great new characters and the kind of multiplayer that will keep you addicted for some time.  It's just a shame that the single player content couldn't really keep up...

Another week is upon us and another batch of new content has arrived on Xbox Live. If you were a fan of Rockstar's L.A Noire. Then you will happy to see that all the DLC for the game is at a low price. If you were holding out on getting the DLC for the game then now is your chance. As personal recomendation, I would get the Nicholson Electroplating case and skip out on Reefer Madness.

Every Tuesday, Sony brings its PlayStation faithful new content, add-ons for your favorite games, Themes and avatars for your PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. Not the best week for new content for new content on the PSN. If you missed Duke Nukem Forever then here is your chance to get the king as he finally makes his debut on current gen consoles. Not the best game on the market, but worth a pick up if your Duke Nukem Fan.

The buzz for the upcoming Street Fighter x Tekken crossover brawler continues to grow, as the game slowly but surely moves towards its March release.  But it's looking more and more like the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions are the ones to have, thanks to the inclusion of a few exclusive characters.  We already knew about Cole McGrath from the Infamous series before, but tonight, Capcom confirmed two more legendary characters who are joining the party...

Believe it or not, play-by-play commentary can have some vital importance in a sports game.  Have it running too long and it becomes irrelevant to what's happening in the game.  Make it too silly and it can take away from the seriousness of your contest.  Make it disjointed and it sounds like a hideous mess.  There's a proper tone you have to nail when it comes to doing running commentary, but THQ recognizes this, as the development team has worked very closely to making UFC Undisputed 3's commentary better than ever.

Lets face it, your have probably played at least one third person shooter this console generation. Minus the story, they have all similar game-styles with little differences in between. With the Gears of War franchise retiring last September, the third person shooter genre is looking for someone to take reins and lead the genre into the next generation. After spending two hours with the game, I came away relativity surprised on what Saber Interactive was bring and how Inversion could be one of the biggest surprise hits of 2012.

With George Lucas taking flight with his new Red Tails movie in theaters, his LucasArts division continues to have success with Star Wars games. With over four years of development, a team of 200 employees and a reported budget of $80 million, Electronic Arts has come under fire of late for BioWare’s massively multiplayer online (MMO) game, Star Wars: The Old Republic. But Michael Pachter, videogame analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities, said the game has already sold 2 million copies worldwide. And the game is already a huge success and money generator for EA, as well as licensor LucasArts.

The Postal Series has been around for awhile now. Starting off with the original Postal game in 1997, it was a gritty, intelligent and funny, which made it one of the most unique IP on the market. Eight years later after Postal 2, the postal series has finally returned to conclude the trilogy. What could have been a great game is instantly turned it into a cosmic mess with no clear direction, outdated controller and horrible game design. Postal III isn’t just the worst downloadable game I have ever played, it is by far the worst game I have ever played.

Nathan Drake just had his biggest adventure yet with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Now the action hero is going on his smallest quest to date – at least in screen size. Sony is launching PlayStation Vita with Uncharted: Golden Abyss, a brand new game in the franchise. And yes, Nolan North is back to voice Drake in the portable PS Vita launch title. Check out the game in action from CES 2012 in the exclusive video below.

Remember back in the 80's and 90's, when game makers were trying to throw in images of hot women to entice you to buy their product, rather than relying on the strength of the games themselves?  The classic Sega Saturn "naked lady" ad comes to mind, with her most oglesome parts covered by screenshots from Sega games.  Well, Namco seems to remember those days well, as its latest ad for Soul Calibur V seems to point out something a little too obvious -- there are boobs in the game.
