Liza Minnelli, Joel Grey, Debbie Reynolds and "Baby Peggy" Diana Serra Cary, along with film noir leading ladies Peggy Cummins, Rhonda Fleming and Marsha Hunt are the latest stars scheduled to appear at the 2012 TCM Classic Film Festival. Also announced today, the festival will feature the North American premiere of a new 75th anniversary restoration of Jean Renoir's powerful POW drama Grand Illusion (1937), widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made. And the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra will provide a live musical accompaniment for a screening of the silent Douglas Fairbanks fantasy-adventure The Thief of Bagdad (1924).

TCM Celebrates The Artist with List of 10 Most Influential Silent Films

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has unveiled its list of 10 Most Influential Silent Films in celebration of Michel Hazanavicius' ode to the silent era, The Artist, which won three Golden Globes® Sunday night, including Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor – Musical or Comedy for Jean Dujardin and Best Original Score. The Artist also picked up 12 British Academy Film Award nominations. The Weinstein Company will expand its release of The Artist nationwide on Friday.

TCM Classic Film Festival to Celebrate Paramount's 100th Anniversary, The Style of Film Noir and Much More

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has unveiled additional programming and events for the 2012 edition of the TCM Classic Film Festival, including a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Paramount Pictures. Robert Evans, longtime producer and former head of production for Paramount, is set to take part in the tribute, which will focus on the studio's 1970s renaissance. In addition, the TCM Classic Film Festival is slated to include a look at The Noir Style, a tribute to legendary costume designer Travis Banton, a look at art deco in the movies, a collection of early cinematic rarities and much more.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is set to make movie history this December when it presents the world television premiere of Fear and Desire (1953), the rarely seen debut film by legendary director Stanley Kubrick. Premiering Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 8 p.m. (ET), the allegorical war drama from the director of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) and The Shining (1980) will be the centerpiece of an extraordinary 24-hour marathon honoring the preservation efforts of the Motion Picture Department at George Eastman House.

TCM Names Guest Hosts for Nov. 7-30

Oscar®-winning actress Eva Marie Saint, film critic Kenneth Turan and award-winning actress Rita Wison will serve guest hosts for the network’s November primetime lineup while TCM host Robert Osborne enjoys the final three weeks of his break. In addition, the final three days of Osborne’s vacation will be hosted TCM weekend daytime host Ben Mankiewicz. Osborne will be back on the air beginning Dec. 1.
