DC Nation Kicks Off with Green Lantern: The Animated Series and

Young Justice on Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment are teaming up to present DC Nation, a full hour of exclusive kids’ television programming and shorts based on DC Comics characters. Full of action and humor, DC Nation brings some of the most beloved and legendary heroes — as well as some lesser-known cult favorites — from the pages of DC Comics to the screens of a whole new generation of fans. Anchored by Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice, DC Nation will premiere Saturday, March 3, at 10 a.m. (ET, PT).

Level Up Debuts as Cartoon Network’s #1 Live-Action Series Premiere
In Network History

The series premiere of Level Up (Tuesday, Jan. 24, 8-8:30 p.m.), Cartoon Network’s newest live-action comedy, beat all previous network records as the #1 live-action series premiere, charting double and triple-digit delivery gains across all targeted kids and boys demos vs. the same time period last year, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. The new series, featuring CG-animation effects and characters, also scored as the #1 telecast in its time period on all television—broadcast and cable—among kids 2-11, boys 2-11, boys 6-11 and boys 9-14. It also ranked as the #1 telecast of the day among boys 9-14 on all television. More than two million total viewers tuned into the half-hour series premiere.

HALL OF GAMETM AWARDS VOTING CATAGORIES AND NOMINEES

Cartoon Network today announced the voting categories and nominees for the second annual sports awards show, Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards, which returns in early 2012.  Hosted by basketball legend and TNT NBA analyst Shaquille O’Neal, the Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards show will feature icons from television, film, music and sports, as kids experience an evening of humor and fun at the most raucous and biggest sports awards show ever.  Voting for these award categories is now open for fans on HallofGame.com.  For the inaugural event in February of 2011, the site received over 37 million votes.

Level Up Surges as #1 Telecast in its Time Period Among Kids 6-11;
Also Ranks as #1 Telecast of the Day Among Kids 9-14 and All Boys

Leveling all competition across its 90-minute original movie premiere (Wednesday, Nov. 23, 7-8:30 p.m.), Cartoon Network’s live-action/CG-animated Level Up ranked #1 in its time period among kids 6-11, and out-performed both cable and broadcast networks by mostly double and triple-digits among kids 9-14 and all boy demos (2-11, 6-11, 9-14) for #1 Telecast of the Day, according to Nielsen Media Research.  The live-action/CG-animated movie also helped propel Cartoon Network to reign as television’s top destination on Wednesday (6 a.m.-9 p.m.) among boys 6-11 and 9-14.  Overall, a total of 2,549,148 viewers ages 2+ tuned in to the Level Up movie premiere.

“The Diesel,” “Shaq Fu,” “The Big Microphone,” Shaquille O’Neal announced today via his Twitter account that he will host the second annual Hall of Game Awards, airing on Cartoon Network in early 2012. Cartoon Network’s Hall of Game Awards is a high-energy, off-the-wall, multi-platform experience that lets viewers vote for and honor their favorite sports stars and sports moments of the year. Last year 1,487,000 total viewers* tuned in and more than 37 million voted online for their favorite sports stars to win the GAME trophy.

Cartoon Network’s original movie, Level Up is a fantastical comedy for the video game age.  At night, Wyatt (Gaelan Connell), Lyle (Jessie T. Usher) and Dante (Connor del Rio) battle together as heroic avatars, in a massively multi-player online video game, Conqueror of All Worlds. Yet, by day these high school teenagers barely know each other’s names, let alone their real identities. That all changes after they mistakenly open a portal from the game world to the real world unleashing the game’s evil villain Maldark, a bunch of his trolls and the entire content of the internet, into their once peaceful neighborhood. Now the trio must put aside their differences and join forces with their classmate Angie (Aimee Carrero) to work together IRL (in real life) to win the game and save the world. All without a single cheat code! Level Up, the movie premieres Wednesday, November 23 at 7 p.m. (ET, PT) on Cartoon Network.

Neil Patrick Harris Leads Cartoon Network’s Hit Animated Series
ADVENTURE TIME to Best Performance in its 3-Season History

Cartoon Network’s Monday night (Sept. 5) presentation of an all-new episode of original animated series ADVENTURE TIME (8 p.m.), currently in its third season, scored its highest delivery among all targeted kids and boys demos—ages 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14—in the history of the series, earning double-digit growth across all audiences, according to Nielsen Media Research. The Labor Day presentation out-paced all competition to rank as the #1 program of the day on all television among kids 6-11 and 9-14, as well as boys 2-11, 6-11 and 9-14.   Additionally, the strength of ADVENTURE TIME’S record-setting performance—which attracted more than 3.3 million viewers 2+—helped propel the network’s Monday night all-comedy line-up (7-9 p.m.) to its best performance 2011-to-date among total viewers.
