Havana, Dec 29 (RHC) According to the Minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero, the tourism sector will close the year with the arrival of 2.7 million international visitors, an 8.2 per cent increase compared to 2010.

Havana, -- Cuban tourist attractions were presented in Tokyo to representatives from this sector in an attempt to increase the number of Japanese tourists visiting Cuba, from the current approximate number of 6,000 visitors each year.

Havana, -- Cuba’s central region will be the venue of the 8th International Meeting of Nature Tourism, Turnat 2011, which will take place from September 26th through the 30th.

Havana, -- According to the Cuban Ministry of Tourism, the Latin American airline AviancaTaca inaugurated direct flights between San Salvador, El Salvador, and Havana, Cuba, which will operate three times a week. A group made up of employees of AviancaTaca, tour leaders, travel agents, and the press were on the first flight. AvaiancaTaca Holding S.A. is a joint company made up of the Colombian airline Avianca and the Panamanian airline TACA.

Varadero Beach Resort, Cuba´s main tourist attraction, is increasing its offers including sports and cultural options. Located 30 kilometers east of the city of Matanzas, the famous beach strip with its clear waters, comfortable hotels and recreational options is located in the Hicacos Peninsula.

BARACOA, Aug 16 (RHC-ACN) The eastern Cuban cities of Guantanamo and Baracoa were presented on Tuesday as two new tourist destinations with enough potential to attract visitors from around the world.
