Havana, February 1 (RHC) -- Members of the “Ismaelillo” Association of Cubans Living in the Bahamas have joined the worldwide demand for the return of The Five to Cuba.  The internationally-known Cuban Five were unjustly condemned in the United States more than 13 years ago for fighting terrorism. 

A letter addressed to U.S. President Barack Obama was sent from Nassau, in which its signatories describe these five fighters as part of a people that have been the victims of both terrorism coming from far right organizations in South Florida and of the illegal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by Washington for more than 50 years.

Havana, Dec 18 (RHC)—The five anti-terrorist Cubans held in the United States for over 13 years sent the Cuban people a happy new year message in which they express their gratefulness to world solidarity in favor of their release.

A text released by the US National Committee for the Freedom of the Cuban Five, as René González, Antonio Guerrero, Ramón Labañino, Fernando González and Gerardo Hernandez are internationally known, particularly blasts the terrible conditions to which Hernandez has been submitted at the Victorville high-security prison.

Washington, December 10 (RHC) -– The U.S. government has requested that the South District Court of Florida reject the collateral appeals for Ramón Labañino and Fernando González. The alleged motivation for this interference is that the arguments put forward by both Labañino and Gonzalez lack the legal credit to be considered by the court.

The U.S government claims that the paying of local reporters in Miami, before and during the trial against the Five, to write articles that biased the jury and created a hostile atmosphere for the Five did not constitute a violation of the process. Likewise, the other arguments in the appeal are to be rejected by the judge.

Miami, Dec 2 (PL-RHC), -- Organizations of Cuban émigrés in Miami have summoned a conference on the five Cuban political prisoners of the US government, announced a communiqué of the Jose Marti Alliance.

The conference will take place at a hotel in downtown Miami on Sunday, December 4, informed the note.

Brussels, Nov 24, (RHC), -- Leftist deputies of Europe and Latin America demanded U.S. authorities the immediate and unconditional release of the five Cubans imprisoned in that northern nation on alleged espionage charges.

Havana, Nov 21 (RHC)—Cuban ambassador to Geneva Rodolfo Reyes called on UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay to back the claim for the return to the island of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters held in the United States.

In a letter to the High Commissioner, Reyes included the final declaration of the recently concluded 7^th International Colloquium for the Freedom of the Cuban Five and against Terrorism, held last week in the eastern province of Holguin.

Havana, Nov 17 (RHC)—Some 12 000 women in the eastern Cuban province of Holguin will stage a march on Friday in solidarity with the five anti-terrorist Cubans held in the United States.

The huge march will take place in all municipalities of the eastern province in the context of the  7th International Colloquium for the Freedom  of the Cuban Five and against Terrorism, underway until Saturday, ACN news agency reported.

Cali, Colombia, Nov 7 (RHC) – The XX National Solidarity with Cuba conference, closed this weekend in Cali, Colombia, fully supporting the Cuban Revolution.

Three days of debates, conferences and colloquy, concluded with a final declaration denouncing the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States more than fifty years ago.

Nov 5- The Russan Movement “Venceremos” (We Shall Overcome) demanded judicial and governmental bodies of the United States to put an end to the violation of human rights towards the Cuban Five, antiterrorist fighters incarcerated in the United States.

In a letter sent to the US embassy in Moscow, the movement demanded the immediate return of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González and René González to Cuba.

Moscow, Nov 3 (RHC-PL) – Olga Salanueva, wife of René Gonzalez one of the Cuban Five, stated on Russia Today television channel in Spanish on Thursday that in the case of Cuban antiterrorist fighters, the U.S. has violated its own laws by converting allegedly incriminating evidence into secret material.
