News: Xenoblade Breaks UK Top 10

The 'niche', Wii-exclusive JRPG makes an astounding debut in the UK charts...

Provisional details of the latest weekly UK sales chart have come to light, with Xenoblade Chronicles entering the All-Formats chart at number 7.

The debut is an incredibly impressive effort from a JRPG title with virtually no marketing push in place. Enthusiasm for the game has been buoyed in recent days by a string of top-tier reviews. It probably also didn't hurt that many eager American gamers are hopping on the import train as Nintendo of America show no sign of localising the game.

The game was the second-best selling Wii game of the week, behind Zumba Fitness. It actually debuted at number 3 in the Individual-Formats chart, behind Zumba Wii and Ocarina of Time 3D, which saw another large boost thanks to the 3DS price cut.

I'm finally going to get my limited edition today, in one or two hours actually. :D Very nice to see it doing well, though it would be interesting to see how many of those sold copies were imports. Hopefully it can keep up the pace and sell well for a good while.

I hope this isn't a limited release game. I want it but I have such a backlog of games to get through, I can't justify buying it just yet.

It wont be limited release if its selling that well, however i expect sales will drop sharply by the end of this week as most pple who will buy probably have or will do so this week

@Benedetto

I lol'd. :D

Here's hope the numbers stay high, letting Nintendo know their efforts for the core gamer aren't in vain.

Not surprising. The game is amazing.

It's what FFXIII should have been like gameplay wise.

@Ruttustherat

There are still quite a few copies of Little King's Story floating around.

I could get you one at a very reasonable price just downtown from where I live if you want.

And I think online retailers still carry it too.
