News: Xenoblade Chronicles Facing Stock Shortages

Retailer ShopTo has claimed their stock for Xenoblade Chronicles probably won't meet demand.

JRPG fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Xenoblade Chronicles as quite often JRPG games don't make it over to Europe. This is not the case with Xenoblade Chronicles, due out tomorrow, but getting your hands on a copy may not be too easy as it seems stock levels will be lower than demanded.

Online retailer ShopTo has tweeted to let customers know that "the publisher has experienced great stock shortages of this title", meaning that some fans could be quite disappointed. According to their tweet there has been "unexpected late demand" of the title and it seems not enough copies were made. No other retailers have addressed the issue at the moment but a few of our readers have spoken to their local stores and it seems stock levels may well be low across the board.

We're sure that if this is the case Nintendo will quickly rectify it but if you really want to get your hands on the game tomorrow be sure to get to your local retailer early. If you're still undecided about whether or not to purchase Xenoblade Chronicles be sure to check out Aaron's review.

Has anyone else ordered from Gamestation online? I still haven't received a dispatch notice yet, so it's now highly unlikely I'll receive in time for release date tomorrow. Wonder what the holdup is?

These shortages will be temporary, yes? I hope there's no problem getting the game as the future, as I can't afford it at launch.

@Otto_spooky - be wary of Gamestation, since they put up their new web site the screwed up two lots of my pre-orders, one for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and one for Dead or Alive Dimensions, both times the order got "stuck" in the system and i was told to either re-order or cancel because even though i could see it, they couldnt find my order.

Kagato: thanks for the tip! I decided to pre-order from Gamestation because I had points on my loyalty card adding up to about £8 which made it quite an attractive offer at the price it was listed at. The order is still not shipped as of Friday morning, so I called my local Gamestation earlier to see how much it is instore. It's £39.99! It's silly to pay that when it's only £29.99 online. So I guess I will have to wait to see what transpires. Will try to avoid pre-ordering from them in the future!
