News: New Xenoblade Release Date Confirmed

The rumours prove to be true as Nintendo confirms earlier release date for Xenoblade Chronicles

Following the rumours last week that the release date for Xenoblade Chronicles was to be pushed forward, Nintendo have today confirmed that the release date is to be moved from 2 September to 19 August. While no official explanation has been given for the change of date, many gamers are sure to be happy that the game will be released a couple of weeks earlier than expected.

Of course, this does nothing to help the American gamers' blight, as Nintendo of America have said nothing about the game since announcing that they have no plans to release it in the US.

Are you happy that the date has been pushed forward? And are you planning on picking up the pre-order bundle early now? As always, let us know in the comments below.

This is pretty good news. Since I'm still enjoying my vacation at the time this game gets released, I think I'm gonna pick it up the 19th of August. That way, I still have little more than a week to play the game before my semester begins. All in all, I'm definitely looking forward to it.

This is absolutely awesome. I would have had one week holiday left to play it originally but now I have 3 weeks to play the hell out of this game? Thanks, NoE!

Hahaha that's funny. Look, I'm not an evil soul but I am a little selfish... So I don't care as long as I get this game... Been waiting patiently for this and it had just gotten better and better... Bundle packs, pre-order bonus... Early release? Anyone would think NOE are trying to rub it in Americas faces :)

@ Ld560 - oops lol, they must love you right about now.

I hope this does well enough in europe that the guys in the US eventually do get a release, even if its just the exact same version we get with the english dub/original japanese language. In the end, if it sells a tonne it can only be good and go some way to guarantee more titles in the series.

This was the reply:

Brilliant news. The original release was coming the Friday before Uni started again for me but now I'll have 2 weeks to play before I go back.

Nice nice nice! August is the best month to release a games for a student. We're very aware that this is the last month of solid gaming before Uni is back on. Christmas doesn't count, assignments loom in the background around that period.

^ I don't think so. The bundle is exclusive to Game and Gamestation, but I've seen a couple of other smaller online retailers list the standalone game. Not many though, which is a shame. Hopefully it'll be more widespreadly available before launch.
