News: Xenoblade Heading To Europe

Is Monolith Soft's epic Wii RPG finally heading to Europe?

This is a pretty big one if true. A seemingly trustworthy source at Neogaf has claimed to have received a Nintendo PR statement confirming Nintendo and Monolith Soft's epic RPG Xenoblade for a European release.

The much-sought-after RPG will reportedly be released later this year as Xenoblade Chronicles, feature English AND Japanese voice-overs, and be fully subtitled in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.

For many, this will no doubt be the best news of the year so far. It must be stressed that this hasn't been confirmed by Nintendo, so keep it locked as we await word from the official channels.

Update: And here is is. Nintendo of Europe have opened the official website for Xenoblade Chronicles.

Why is the trailer Japanese...? I'm STILL suspicious.

@ D_prOdigy: I was referring to the Japanese text =)

(but I guess it comes down to NoE not creating a brand spanking new trailer for it, and using a JPN trailer instead)

WOOP!

Will be my first Xeno- game, as I never had any PlayStations.

But no American release? We'll never hear the end of it if that's the case!

Jolly Good!

@Pod, Am I right in thinking that this game has nothing to do with the Xeno games on Playstation?

@Rawlings

It's written and directed by the same guy, Tetsuya Takahashi, but other than that, it's only vagely a spiritual successor.

Xenosaga didn't really have anything to do with the universe from Xenogears either, though.

This hopefully means that they may bring Last Story out over here too! Happy days!

This is fantastic news, i know its not a big thing for everyone but the Japanese audio being left intact is a huge plus for me. Considering how many RPGS the wii has in Japan its good to see some of them making their way to the West, hopefully a UK listing will be on Game shortly...

Great news. I wasn't expecting this.

I'm definitely buying the game, as I was planned on doing anyway if it got a release.

Too bad they changed the name though, I liked just Xenoblade better, but it's not all that important I guess.

Oh Yeah!

Monolith Soft are great developers, wii needs more like this. Surely Square will be eyeing sales to determine whether to release Last Story.

@Bugmenot: Square? The Last Story was developed by Mistwalker and published by Nintendo in Japan, not Square Enix.

The Last Story coming to Europe is almost confirmed at this point, because Xenoblade is very likely to get less sales than it but they still picked it up.

excited for this one, didn't expect a euro release, but they did say about focusing on localising a number of titles didn't they, so hopefully there's more to follow

Great news. All we need now is The Last Story being confirmed for a European and (wishfully thinking) Star Fox and F-Zero being announced and released along with Zelda for this winter

^ If that would happen I'd take back everything I've said about this year being the worst year for the Wii in its whole history.

I really hope you're right, but I somehow doubt Star Fox AND F-Zero will get a release this year. Nintendo just seems far too busy at the moment with the 3DS if you ask me.
