Media: Monolith Soft's Xenoblade - Battle System

Posted by Aaron Clegg - May 19th 2010 04:39

Get a first look at the slick, real-time combat Xenoblade will offer Japanese gamers next month...

If there's one thing Monolith Soft excels at above most other RPG developers, it's creating a fun combat system, from the Gamecube-exclusive Baten Kaitos titles, to the Japan-only, critically acclaimed Soma Bringer.

The studio looks to continue to trend with Xenoblade; the first full video of the battle system having been released showing a healthy mix of real-time combat, strategic elements and team-union moves.

With still no whisper of a western release, Xenoblade is set to launch in Japan in less than a month.

Looks... nothing like MH3, no comparisons to be made.
Seems damn good, like the ideas behind the battle system, the environments are gorgeous and the soundtrack is gonna be killer with all the composers involved.

@Hellraiser: MH3 is better animated, especially the animals, but Xenoblade looks good anyway, especially the landscapes. ;)
