  Nicola M. Antakli, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Intraco Corporation, Troy, Michigan, was born in Homs, Syria in 1931 and came to the United States as a student in 1955. He received his undergraduate degree from Lawrence Technological University and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Detroit.

  After establishing overseas operations for a Fortune 100 automotive company, he ventured off on his own and, in 1971, he founded Intraco Corporation, a thriving multi-national trade, consulting and distribution firm. Through his leadership and vision, Intraco has mastered the ongoing development of mutually beneficial business partnerships in the global marketplace. Mr. Antakli believes that by working together cultural, language and trade barriers can be resolved, thus creating long-term business relationships and a broader understanding between people and nations.

  In 1991 Mr. Antakli was honored for his achievements by the World Trade Club of the Greater Detroit Chamber of Commerce which named him its 1991 World Trader of the Year. Mr. Antakli was honored to receive the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1996.

  Nicola Antakli's personal involvement in civic affairs varies widely from his church archdiocese in North America to political involvement at the local, state and national levels, and to business and philanthropic associations and Arab-American groups.

  Mr. Antakli and his wife, Virginia, and their four children reside in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and Naples, Florida.
