Herero is a Bantu language with around 133,000 speakers, who are known as Ovaherero, in parts of Namibia and Bostwana. It's closely related to Himba and Tjimba.
Since the 1960s, efforts have been made to standardise the spelling of Herero and other Bantu languages.
