Digital Project Manager – London - £50K

Our client is a rapidly expanding marketing communications agency based in London. They pride themselves on listening carefully to their clients’ needs and creating the best campaigns possible through the use of innovative technologies, always researching the latest methods.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for a Digital Project Manager with experience over a range of digital platforms looking to define the current process and future direction of a PM function and so carve a career as they wanted.

The Role

As Digital Project Manager, the successful candidate will need to plan, schedule and co-ordinate individual projects as well as taking a broader view, managing the entire digital department. This means that the role would be very much focused on the running of the projects in conjunction with the Account Manager and Producer/ Director rather than a real involvement in the creative production. They should be capable of working autonomously as well as keeping track of an extended team, and inspire teams across the agency to deliver exceptional campaigns.

It is the Project Manager’s responsibility to schedule the different stages of production within the department in order to ensure that the project is delivered on time, while taking an analytical approach to current projects, making sure that there is always a contingency plan in place. This is more of an overseeing role and the Project Manager will not have much involvement in the actual work that takes place, and so it is imperative that the potential candidate display strong managerial qualities so that projects within the department run smoothly.

It may be necessary for the Project Manager to be able to explain technical concepts to non-technical members of the department, which would obviously require a detailed knowledge of technical, as well as strong communication skills. This would also be necessary for any client-facing meetings or presentations. An understanding of web analytics and reporting would also be desirable to assist with client and campaign reporting.

The Candidate

Considerable experience of digital is key to this role, and ideally a good appreciation of technical and information architecture principles. The ideal candidate will display the following key qualities:

• Thorough understanding of website design, optimisation (including SEO), user testing and usability principles (latest trends, Internet best practices)

• Good financial awareness, an ability to estimate accurately and manage budgets

• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both with clients and within the department

• Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under pressure

• In time, ability to manage a growing PM team.

If you are looking for a new challenge and this sounds like the perfect next step for your career, send your CV to Dan!
