HOW WE USE YOUR INFO

Your email address
We ask for this so we can contact you in the future, maybe to send out an email newsletter that you have requested or answer a question that you have asked us via the Feedback or GeekFriend form.

Address and postcode
This is so we can post something to you, like a competition prize or similar. This saves emails going backwards and forwards confirming your address.

Gender or date of birth
We use this information to find out who uses our site so we can make it more relevant.

Credit card or other payment details
We need these to charge you for your Pocket-lint members subscription. We do not share these details with anyone else and do not keep them on file. For credit card payments we use a third party payment system provided by SECPAY in the UK.

COOKIES

We use this to guess where our users are logging on from and protect ourselves from malicious attacks.

Cookies
A cookie is a text file that web sites place on your PC to make services easier to use.

Pocket-lint uses cookies to keep pop unders and overlay adverts to a sensible level, and to save you having to type your details in every time you want to access the members area.

You can switch off cookies in your browser, but our site won’t work as well.

Anything else?
We may analyse non-specific user info such as what pages you like best, what adverts were clicked on or the average age of our readers to get a better understanding of our site, however we can not and do not pinpoint this information to specific individuals.

SPAM

We only send you what you’ve asked for, like our email newsletter or news and reviews alerts in the members area.

If you don’t want these services any longer you can stop them either via the newsletter sign up page or by cancelling the alert in question via the news alerts page.

The companies that we deal with are all reputable and are governed by UK or EU laws, so they have to look after your personal information just like us.

Occasionally we may need to disclose certain information in order to comply with a legal requirement.

If there is a change in control of this site your information could be sold or transferred as part of that transaction and your information may potentially be used by the purchaser or other recipient.

SEEING THE INFO WE HOLD

We do not specifically collect information about children under the age of 16.

PURCHASING GOODS AND SERVICE FROM US

Please not that any price indicated on this website is inclusive of VAT

You have the right to change your mind about any product you purchase from us.

Simply put in writing to us that you wish to cancel your order within 7 working days of the date of delivery of the product and we will let you have a full refund within 30 days.

For membership subscription you must give 30 days notice that you want to cancel your subscription.

Pocket-lint is not responsible for any comments made within individual reader reviews. The reader reviews are uploaded to this site with good faith on behalf of the individual reader. Pocket-lint also retains the right to edit where we see fit the reviews for bad language etc.

COMPETITION RULES

By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by the rules and by any other requirements set out on Pocket-lint.

Competitions are only open to residents of the United Kingdom and Eire, and Europe, and excludes employees of the sponsor, Pocket-lint and their families.

All entries must be submitted through the Pocket-lint competition web page and will not be accepted via any other means, eg, post, fax or e-mail.

Pocket-lint reserves the right to disqualify incomplete, altered or illegal entries.

No responsibility is accepted for incomplete entries due to server error or other causes beyond our control.

Winning entries will be chosen by a Pocket-lint member of staff or guest judge.

The prize winner will receive the prize as featured in the corresponding competition. There is no cash alternative to the prizes.

The winner will be notified by e-mail within 28 days of the end of the competition. Winner's details such as name and where in the country they live may be posted on Pocket-lint within 28 days of the end of the competition. We will not however publicly publish full address details.
