About Us

Who we are

Welcome to Pocket-lint the largest independent gadget news and reviews site in the UK.

I created the site in 2003 to offer web surfers the chance to get independent reviews on all the latest gadgets without having to wait weeks for the next issue to come out. Unlike some sites, we don't have a press publication to worry about so that means we can give you, the reader, the latest news as it happens, and the latest reviews before anyone else.

On the review side we aren't interested in pointless number crunching or providing you 16-page reviews including how we took it out of the box, but easy to read, and more importantly, easy to understand copy. When we get a product in for review we ask three key questions:

1. Does it make my life better?
2. Does it work?
3. Has it got wow factor?

Roam around the site, become a member, start enjoying the consistently breaking news and reviews we write. If you're not up for reading why don't you just sit back and watch the videos we shoot. You can get involved by posting your own comments.

If you have any comments about the site, or the stories we write, we would love to hear from you via the feedback form.

We hope that you enjoy the site as much as we enjoy making it.

Chris Hall Chris Hall
Editor
Chris has been involved with Pocket-lint since its launch stepping into the Editor role in 2011, formerly Editor of Reviews. Rik Henderson
Editor of news
Rik has been a tech and games journalist for over 22 years, having been editor of Your Commodore and Amstrad Computer User in the early days, up to a six-year stint as deputy editor of Home Cinema Choice most recently. He has worked in almost every form of the media, newspapers, magazines, online and worked in television for eight years, with stints as series producer of Sky One's Games World and co-presenter of Channel 4's Gamesmaster being notable highlights. His love of gadgets and gizmos is only matched by his love of Liverpool football club, and he believes that, at Pocket-lint, he has finally found his spiritual home. If it's news, Rik's all over it like cheap perfume.

Dan Sung Dan Sung
Editor of Features
Dan's love affair with tech began in 1985 with his first computer, the Enterprise 128. In between that, the release of Back to the Future, the original Transformers action figures and a local video shop that rented films to minors, it was enough to hook him on sci-fi, gadgets and games. After a psychology and zoology degree at university, a career on stage and screen he joined Pocket-lint in 2009 where he heads up the features department creating in depth content with the help of the rest of the team. He's generally at his happiest with a camera round his neck, a Nexus One in one hand and a well stewed cup of tea in the other.

Ben crompton Ian Morris
Editor of Reviews
If there was an award for being lucky, Ian would have won it for his implausibly interesting career. Starting off as one of those spotty youths who worked in Currys he displayed an interest in gadgets while everyone else was out getting drunk and meeting women. After a quick break for a degree, Ian moved to the BBC where he was an HTML expert and editorial wrangler. A stint writing the Top Gear website led him to a career as a full-time writer, and a move to consumer electronics, where he specialised in TV and home cinema. Ian is in charge of reviews for Pocket-lint and he also co-presents a gadgets and technology show for Sky 1 called Gadget Geeks, which will air in 2012.

Paul Lamkin Paul Lamkin
Contributing editor
Paul's been with Pocket-lint since May 2010 and has earned the nickname "news monkey" from his co-workers. He's not sure if this is a good thing or not, but it's better than some of the nicknames he was called in his schooldays (the playground can be such a cruel place). His friends and family describe him as a geek but he "claims" that means he's the first person they call upon when their computers/TVs/phones etc go tits-up. Geek is the new cool don't you know. Outside of tech he likes sport, especially football, travelling, and Haribo Tangfastics.

Hunter Skipworth Hunter Skipworth
Contributing editor
The baby of the Lint team, Hunter has been a tech fan since he bought his first MiniDisc..and what a waste of money that was. He began writing about electronics at the age of 16 and hasn't stopped since. Nowadays he fulfils his mobile phone and gaming obsession whilst attempting to distract people from his bizarre name. Regular meetings with the Gladiators crew see Hunter often returning to work battered and bruised. Considers himself a music obsessive, was once the most highly decorated scout in the country. Fan of trousers.
