WHO WE ARE

 

The River Ridge Development Authority owns and manages the River Ridge Commerce Center, located in Clark County, Indiana.  The River Ridge Development Authority was created by the Commissioners of Clark County, Indiana on February 17, 1998 for the purpose of redeveloping the former Indiana Army Ammunition Plant (INAAP) in accordance with the responsibilities, powers and duties enumerated in Indiana Code 36-7-30.

 
 
 
 
 
   
 

OUR MISSION  

 

It is the mission of the River Ridge Development Authority as mandated by Indiana statutes to plan, rehabilitate, redevelop, and prepare the former Indiana Army Ammunition Plant for private enterprise and development for the benefit of the economy, property values, public health, safety, morals and welfare.

 
 
 
   
 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND PARTICIPATING JURISDICTIONS

 

The River Ridge Development Authority is governed by a Board of Directors that are appointed by five participating jurisdictions.  The roles and responsibilities of these participating jurisdictions were defined by an Interlocal Agreement adopted in 1999, amended in 2000 and affirmed by the Indiana Attorney General.  Meeting dates for 2009 will be as follows:  the third Monday of the month except for January and February where the third Monday falls on a holiday.  The meetings for January and February will be held on the third Tuesday instead of the third Monday.  All meeting times will be held at 4:00 p.m.  The jurisdictions and their appointees are as follows: J. Mark Robinson, appointee of Clark County Commissioners; Norman E. "Ned" Pfau, Jr., appointee of city of Jeffersonville, David W. Evanczyk, appointee of Ports of Indiana; David Flowe, appointee of City of Charlestown; and Tim McDonald, appointee of town of Utica. OUR HISTORY

 

The River Ridge Commerce Center© was formerly the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant. The plant manufactured gunpowder during World War II, the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War. Congress declared the property surplus to its needs in 1998 and authorized 6000 acres of the property to be conveyed to the River Ridge Development Authority for economic development and other parts of the property to be used for expansion of the Charlestown State Park.
