Happy New Year

By avatar! (Sunday, 8:17) (#1)

As noted, happy new year! Let's hope 2012 is better than 2011 smile

So any resolutions? What are you thankful for this year?
We should at least be glad we live in a modern, intellectual world, where...

um, never mind. What the hell is wrong with some (many) people!!
I think numerous people still live in the first century. Well, keep hoping for the best, despite the news. If anyone has any resolutions, feel free to state them here.

I don't really make New Year's resolutions, but I do want to keep track this year of my purchases. One of my goals is to go China-free as much as possible. For the record I have no problems at all with the Chinese people and their wonderful heritage, but I do not like the Chinese (evil) government, nor cheap Chinese goods, and I want to support my local and/or US economy as much as possible. Oh, and before someone starts complaining about the US government being evil (which is fine), let me say that you're comparing apples and sneakers and anyway two wrongs never make a right. SO, let me wish everyone a great 2012 again...

I already started working on my resolution when I cut my video game collection in half the other month. Outside picking up two cheapo Gameboy games (Yoshi and Dr. Mario) I haven't bought any video games. I've stopped picking up things with the hope that I'll "play them someday." I only nab something if it's essential and quite honestly I have most of the stuff I want at this point.

I was going to pick up a Mega Man 7 cart but GOD I wasn't aware of how much they went for... I don't like the game enough to drop that kind of coin. So I backed off that one.

Still, because of this I've been able to put some money from each paycheck away. Feels really good. Now if I could only quit spending money on eating out... at fast food joints - not really for the health reasons but I spend too much money there as well. If I could curb that as well I could really save.

happy new year.

this board needs to be more lively again.

29 weeks since the move to AZ, and i still haven't even connected a game console to the tv.
things are looking pretty bleak for indoor activities right now, and today's 79 degrees forced me to go riding again

and i am thankful for boobies,, but i used that in the thanksgiving thread, so do i hafta pick something else or am i allowed a repeat?

One shift [of work] later and I don't know if I'm going to keep this up after all. Girlfriends kind of cost money... I didn't have one when I posted this a few hours ago.

Still, I'm up for some human interaction that doesn't involve the internet. Lord knows this was long overdue...

Anyway, as many shots as I can take at myself over this hopefully something comes out of this in the new year. To new relationships...?

If you drink soda (Cola, Pepsi, Dew, whatever) perhaps you should make a serious resolution to stop, and here's an article to explain why... enjoy!

I agree. Empty calories and sweetener. Drinking water is better for me and I can eat more stuff that tastes better than soda with the calories I save. I can't say I've missed soda too much, the occasional Coke aside.

Yes, over the years it has been in a steady decline. This could be because video game music has become much more mainstream, hence no need to seek out little island sanctuaries such as this site. Also, some old time posters (Jodo, Zane, myself) no longer post too often. In the past, a post about anything would have received numerous and lively responses, these days, you can just hear the flys buzzin'. Who knows, things do go in cycles so it may become lively again at some point.
