    Not to be that guy that makes the stupid comment, but "I am a fan of color... Something that has been absent in most video games in general as of late" is wrong. Sure you make comparisons to skyrim but that is just one game, have not played anything else; for example all zelda games, all uncharted games, all neon cat games (or whatever they are called). Other than that perfect comment I agree.

    I know that I am in the brutal minority, but I personally like a slightly more "funneled" world - it makes the world feel a bit more alive.

    Whenever I play Skyrim, though, it feels like I am completely alone in a dead world - travelling across miles of nothingness just to reach some fortress or cave or whatever - the aforementioned "miles of nothingness" works well in literature, but not so awesome in games... Just my 2 cents, of course.

    In my personal, humble, opinion... This is the perfect game in a post-Skyrim era. Yes, the story and world are generic fantasy fare, I would gladly take a generic high fantasy setting over a 5,000th dark fantasy setting (of course, that could just be the fact that I am a fan of color... Something that has been absent in most video games in general as of late.)

    I perfectly agree with the review and score. The combat is excellent, but it finally comes down to what gamers expect in a post-skyrim era. (For me the biggest let down is that the open world here is NOT open world).

    Hmmm. I wasn't terribly impressed by the demo of this game so this review doesn't surprise me. I don't see what all the fuss is about, the GS score is only 5% lower than a metacritic average from almost 40 reviews. It doesn't sound like GS's review is that far off center to me.

    Considering I still have a lot of Skyrim left to do, the 2nd half of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the last third of Dark Souls, plus I'm sitting on a copy of Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition and then Mass Effect 3, The Witcher 2, Xenoblade Chronicles all come out before the Summer. Plus Dragon's Dogma has potential as does the Southpark RPG. Then theres Diablo 3 plus Guild Wars 2 which is a combo that will probably push me to buy a gaming PC this year. Yeah I just don't see KOA fitting into my RPG schedule this year. I will keep my eyes open for the sequel if it materializes, probably will.

    I completely disagree with how this review is presented. I reccommend heading over to IGN.com and reading/watching a much more straight forward and cohesive review. Idk what is going on with Gamespot lately... seems like their reviews are getting more and more bland.

    "blah blah blah" 7.0
    "blah blah blah" 7.5
    "blah blah blah" 7.0

    "What?! A new Call of Duty?!" 9.5!

    "o, wait... it's not out yet?"

    @Kevin-V
    @neonsurfboard
    While I can't speak of this particular review as I haven't played the game yet, I think Neonsurfboard's reaction is indicative of a seemingly lack of cohesion in what's being said in reviews and the actual scores given on this site as of late. Particularly in the 7-7.5 range.

    Some reviews will be mostly negative with some good points, more or less neutral, or mostly positive. But they all get the same score. Reading reviews for Infamous 2, Skyward Sword, Soul Calibur V, Reckoning, and then seeing they all got the exact same score is a bit polarizing to many readers.

    @neonsurfboard -- Did you read or listen to it? I had a lot to say about the parts that were more disappointing. Besides, a 7.5 means "very good." Obviously, if a game is very good, most of what I say will be positive!

    Wow going from that review you would think he would have given it an 8.5 or a 9... Just about everything he said was complementary, his only complaint was you "might" be let down by the world, lol.

    Cant wait, my special edition is on the way ill have it today..Huge ogre state, a cloth map, sound track, game, sign autograph from ken rolsten..Been following this game since ive heard about the studeo..Glad its getting great reviews..Dont care weather the naysayers dont like it either over a old demo..Word of mouth will sell this game..Diablo style loot, fable like graphics, skyrim like game..

    Ken rolsten, Ra salvatore, Todd mcfarlen, they call it the dream team..Curt schilling backing it up with his own cash..Doesnt get better than this folks..When every studio is dumbing down games...Im looking at you wow and skyrim an other games diablo 3..Its refreshing to see a studeo adding things to the menu..Making a game ive wanted for years..Bring on reckoning..
