Actor Lester Speight can be found on Blu-ray blockbusters like Faster and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. But gamers can hear him in Epic Games’ Gears of War 3, one of the big games of 2011. There's no question that a number of developers are making Kinect games that appeal to gamers of all ages, particularly sports titles and cute little games that parents can play along with their kids.  Well, mark up a huge win for Microsoft, as the company has just announced that it's teaming up with Disney and Pixar to release Kinect Rush for the device early next year.

As great as mainstream first-person shooters are (we’re looking at you, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3), we do like checking out ones that go off the beaten path, just to see what they offer to the genre.  We’re talking about oddities like Po’ed and certain Doom mods that twist the typical rules at running around and shooting things entirely.  So we were more than happy to see what WXP Games was doing with its genre-bending Xbox Live Arcade release, Xotic.

No matter how old you are, you probably won’t ever forget the first time you visited a Disney theme park, primarily Disneyland.  Nothing beats stepping into the Magic Kingdom for the first time and taking in all the sights and sounds, whether you’re riding the Matterhorn or giving Mickey Mouse a hug.  (C’mon, you know you did it.)  Not everyone can afford a trip right away, though, so it’s nice to see we have a digital alternative that’s just as magical, even if you don't have a pair of mouse ears at the end of the day.

Beginning Tuesday morning December 6, Xbox 360 owners around the world will be able to download a free system update that will bring an all-new Xbox 360 experience, including brand new entertainment applications on Xbox LIVE and a redesigned user interface with expanded Kinect voice control. The next generation of TV entertainment begins with the announcement by Microsoft Corp. of the launch of an all-new Xbox 360 experience including the first group of new, custom applications from world leading TV and entertainment content providers on Xbox LIVE.

Entering the seventh year of its lifecycle, Xbox 360 just closed the biggest sales week in the history of Xbox, selling more than 960,000 consoles in the U.S. during the week of Black Friday. The game maker also has seen continued interest in its controller-free games. More than 750,000 Kinect for Xbox 360 sensors were sold in the U.S. that week, both standalone and bundled, according to internal Microsoft data.

When it was announced a few months ago back at E3, the UFC on Xbox Live service sounded like a dream for fans of the fighting league.  Featuring live interaction between fights, interactive pools and other cool features, it was going to introduce a new dynamic for the service come December 1st.  Unfortunately, some minor setbacks have forced both UFC and Microsoft to come up with a new release date...but you won't have to wait too long.

To teach business students about the challenges of strategic competition in the video game industry, MIT Sloan School of Management Prof. John Sterman has developed a Web-based simulation program called Platform Wars, in which players battle for video game supremacy. Fortunately, the opportunity to be a part of the battle is not limited to the MIT community. Forza Motorsport 4 is doing quite well for the racing community, with hundreds of thousands of folks hitting the track and showing the world their racing mettle.  But that racing world is about to open up even further, as Microsoft has announced a new pack of cars coming to the game December 6th.

The National Football League has exclusive deals with Gatorade, Bud Light, Southwest Airlines and now Microsoft’s  Xbox 360. Microsoft has signed a multiyear sponsorship with the NFL that makes Xbox 360 the official console sponsor of the NFL and NFL PLAY 60. Xbox 360 will work with the NFL’s youth health and wellness program, NFL PLAY 60, to help teach kids the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle while having fun with Kinect for Xbox 360. NFL star Brandon Harris of the Houston Texans is one of a majority of pros who play games. He talks about his own gaming background in the exclusive video interview below.

The latest Xbox Live Dashboard update has been coming for some time, and for months, fans have been buzzing about the changes that are being made, since they were first introduced at E3 a few months ago at Microsoft's press conference.  Now we're merely just days away from the update, as Microsoft has officially stamped it with a release date -- December 6th.

Most of the time, when you're looking for third party peripherals, that usually means controllers, like Power A's Batarang or MadCatz's customized fighting controllers.  But every once in a while, there's a peripheral that can actually make a difference to how you play certain games.  For us, that would be the Nyko Zoom, a device that looks more like a camera accessory than a gaming peripheral.  But the difference it will make for some Kinect players will be vast.
