Maryland scored two-goals in the final three minutes of regulation and sent the game to overtime. Jill Witmer scored the overtime goal to give the Terrapins their second consecutive national title.

Maryland and North Carolina are making a habit of meeting in the national championship match, and the Terps won their second consecutive title in a row with a 3-2 overtime victory.

Maryland came into the 2011 NCAA tournament as an unseeded team. But the result was the same as 2010, as the Terps notched their second national title in a row with an OT win vs. UNC.

North Carolina comes from behind to tie up the game in the final minute of regulation, and then uses two overtime periods to secure the winning goal to beat Connecticut 4-3 in semifinal action on Friday.
