Big Weekend

Hello! Just a quick note to say...it's Big Weekend. This means everyone's in Bangor having the BEST TIME of ALL TIME, and generally kicking up a ruckus.

Which leaves me wondering how best to mark the event. A special website devoted to the goings on? Well there already is one. Carry on as usual? I was gonna say something about Rihanna's 'Te Amo', but what could I add to the fact that she's performing it in front of a bazillion screaming fans in Bangor this Sunday night, beyond saying it's a nice song, she's a nice pop star, and by the way, you should totally check out the Big Weekend site.

You should, by the way, totally check out the Big Weekend site. And then join me back here on Monday for more of the same old nonsense.

TTFN!

The Big Weekend site was useless earlier, was playing the radio over peroformances. Seems to be working well now though, listening to some MGMT.

30 Seconds to Mars looked predictably epic, really want to see them live. Leto looks like he knows how to keep a crowd entertained. Even if he looks ridiculous. Not sure the crowd were into it too much. At one of their own gigs, I bet it's mental.

I'm watching the full videos by the way, not the highlight shows.

Hadouken! looked absolutely mental. Really good performance.

Lostprohpets predictable excellent. Alicia Keys dropped in "North Wales" instead of New York, making the crowd go wild. Was good.

    Where's Florence's?!?!

MGMT good... but get the impression they will be a bit dull live. Will probably find out at Glastonbury.

Listened to the Radio for a bit. Jo Whiley is makin my ears bleed. I don't know how such an experienced broadcaster can make so many mistakes.

Cheryl Cole's 3 Words is pretty terrible live, she wouldn't get through the X-Factor auditions on that performance.

Florence absolutely killed it. I mean. Wow. Proving why she got that slot easily.

Florence has really improved as a performer, if you look at old shows compared to now the difference is massive.

I think it probably has something to do with her drinking less.

She came to my uni and performed at a Union night (not not really a paid for gig), around when 'Dog Days' was getting played for the first time, so she was pretty unknown but obviously up and coming. I really wanted to see her but couldn't, had a massive lab report due in :( Anyways she howled for sambucca throughout the set and people just kept bringing her shots. She jumped into the crowd on a few occasions.. was apparently mental. But good. And drunk!
