About Trans
Now in its fifth year, Trans is an annual, non-commercial arts festival held in Belfast, Northern Ireland which runs alongside the Urban Arts Academy, a comprehensive series of introductory-level creative industry courses. Organised by the Belfast Waterfront, Trans is a three week programme of gigs, courses, exhibitions, seminars and discussions.
The trans ideology:
- We invest in new technologies, new trends, new art forms and new artists
- We provide training in career paths which the current system does not
- We encourage debate outside traditional politics
- We demonstrate that Urban Arts should not be confined to Youth Culture
- We bring the world to Belfast and Belfast to the world
