RestoBookings.be is a restaurant site on which the user can look for restaurants, and book them using a built-in module. Twice a year, an action called RestoDays is organized offering huge reductions on high class restaurants. In that week, on average 38.000 bookings are made through the website alone, and this number is still climbing.

The previous implementation of the RestoBookings module had no longer a future in terms of scalability and customization. The module was buggy and unmaintainable, and so Foreach was contacted to recreate the entire booking system.

Foreach was then loaded with 3 tasks:

- Design and deliver an easy to use booking module where the user comfort is the highest priority.

- Handle the e-mail and sms communication between RestoBookings and the customer

- Create a business backend that can create reports and invoices

Features and functionality:

The booking module can be used by different partners, and by different restaurants.

On the website of the partner, the customer selects a restaurant.

If the restaurant is bookable through that partner, then the partner can display the booking module.

In the booking module, the promotions are shown that are available for that partner - restaurant combination.

Once the booking is complete, the user and the restaurant receive an e-mail and optionally a sms with the reservation data.

The customer can now also create an account to speed up the future booking process.

Using webservices, the partners are always up-to-date on which restaurants and promotions are bookable.

Because of the high complexity of the business logic, Foreach built a custom admin site to allow the administrators to fully control and fine tune all the different parameters involved in making the perfect reservation.
