I am neutral but after what I have seen from links sigh..there the evidence not for WOW agains STWOR but simply there is no such thing as NEW great mmo or revolutionary....etc anyway

    To clarify, Lightside/Darkside Gear is underwelming. For hitting the top tier in the respective alignment You just get a different colored mount at no discount.

    Also what small rewards that are availble for light and dark are missing Custom armor for Marauder/Sentinel. Very disapointing. Even some of the titles associated with alignment aren't being awarded as of patch 1.1

    This games was an 8 til the recent graphics update with anistropic filtering, anti aliasing, and character quality .Now it's an 8.5 to 9, they could still implement better shading and shadow techniques. The city planets like Nar Shada and Coruscant are the week links when compared to planets with flora and fauna like Taris and Ord Mantel.

    @Megotaku77

    oh and about wow and cata and this sites score. Yea they gave Cata a 8.5 when just the patch in prep for it in october '10 was so terrible it made me quit the game after playing it since day one...kinda strange

    @Megotaku77 @Kevin-V
    kevin vanord is garbage. don't put much of anything into what he says.

    "You may find yourself choosing the light or dark option for the sake of that blaster you want" looking for that darkside blaster still? Don't hold your breath. Just a taste of how terrible this guy is.

    I got Skyrim when it came out, amazing, the guy gave it a 9, i'd give it a 9.5 easily, but a .5 difference, meh. I haven't played a minute of it since SWTOR came out, tons of other people as well, says something.

    He's the same person who told me personally that a 7 mmo (his review) is worth buying and paying the sub fee for when there were 2 other higher scoring, same type mmo's (all super hero type) on Metacritic and by GS at it's release. I mean, here you go, I have 3 steaks, they get progressively much better from #1-#3, they all cost the same. Any person who isn't a dbag will tell you to get #3.

    SWTOR is a much better game than this steak #1 selling kevin vanord says it is. Easy 9.

    played skyrim until swtor came out, as did...many others. And no, sorry, Kotor looks terrible in comparison, fact. Oh and if Skyrim (an amazing game no doubt) was scored the same way it would get the same score.

    I am no fan of MMOs, and playing now Skyrim and having Mass Effect 2, why bother with MMOs which offer shollow repetitive gameplay focused on only leveling up, leveling up and more leveling up for the sake of leveling up. Yeah, I know this comment will be thumbs down. As for the graphics, Kotor (2003) looks better even on XBOX.

    The Entertainment Software Association, the association behind E3, supports SOPA, which will censor the internet. If they support SOPA, then gamers can't support E3. Please spread this message to every comments section and send it around, demanding that Gamespot does not attend or cover E3 unless the ESA changes their stance on the bill.

    an 8, well im not sure how to rate an mmo but i will say this. ive put more hours into this game than i have any other game that has a score of 9 or 10. also its very addictive. most bioware and bethesda game to that to me (it be cool if they hooked up for a game, bioware writes the story though)

    Its pretty obvious that the Gamespot Reviewers never made it passed the noob levels. There is virtually zero high-end content being displayed here or even discussed. And its more obvious that gamespot took a boat-load of cash from Blizzard to pump up Warcraft's score and Bash Bioware. Why is every video about SWTOR preceeded by a WoW ad?

    star wars the old republic is the most amazing game ,E P I C , this video makes that a fact http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhpqpbyKs34

    Yeah, watching the video review says that Gamespot reviewers really didn't even want to enjoy it. And it shows in the fact that every single time I've tried to sit down to watch the review, I've had to sit through a 30 second World of Warcraft video ad. And only that ad.

    I'd like to see some transparency from these reviewers. What level did you get to? How much content did you explore? When I see absolutely asinine comments in the review like "no exploration!" when I've been on ventrilo with a friend who's been hunting holocrons in the most absurd, out of the way places that actually include puzzles you have to solve it makes me wonder how LITTLE effort actually went in to accurately reviewing this game. MMOs are sold on content. They didn't even mention the content! "Oh there are flashpoints and operations." Well I can see someone didn't make it to endgame since all I got to see was footage of the level 11 dungeon. Unprofessional review.
