Sony’s MLB 12 The Show franchise has been and continues to be the market leading and most realistic baseball title of this console generation and the number-one rated sports video game over the past four years. Sony had both the PS Vita and PlayStation 3 versions of the new game on display at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. Now the game maker has unveiled the new cover featuring Adrian Gonzalez. The first overall pick by the Florida Marlins in the 2000 MLB Draft, Gonzalez has ascended to the top of his sport, both on the field and at the plate. He is a four-time All-Star (2008-2011), three-time Rawlings Gold Glove winner (2008, 2009, 2011), and 2011 Silver Slugger Award winner. Here's a bit of a rhetorical question. What's scarier, EA's Origin service existing passed 2012 or SOPA and PIPA? Trick question, they are both pretty equally terrifying. Jokes aside, even though we're nearing the end of Internet Blackout Wednesday where sites such as Wikipedia, BoingBoing and Reddit closed up shop so to speak, more news trickled out as it relates to two of gaming's biggest juggernauts--Electronic Arts and E3 powerhouse Entertainment Software Associate both of who refuse to change their Pro-SOPA and PIPA stances despite a hefty petition on Change.org.

There's no question that 2011 was a big year for the Mortal Kombat franchise, as Netherrealm Games effectively relaunched the franchise and made fighting relevant again, complete with over-the-top fatalities and bonus characters that piqued our interest.  (Freddy Krueger?)  But it looks like 2012 will be just as eventful for the series, as the team has not only announced a new Komplete Edition that's coming to consoles later this spring, but also its debut on the PlayStation Vita.

Nathan Drake just had his biggest adventure yet with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Now the action hero is going on his smallest quest to date – at least in screen size. Sony is launching PlayStation Vita with Uncharted: Golden Abyss, a brand new game in the franchise. And yes, Nolan North is back to voice Drake in the portable PS Vita launch title. LAS VEGAS – Sony showed off a final version of Nihilistic Software’s shooter, Resistance: Burning Skies, on PlayStation Vita at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012). The PS Vita game introduces a new story set before the events of the PS3 game, Resistance 2. Players take control of fireman Tom Riley, who’s main weapon is the fire axe, and live through the Chimera invasion of the East Coast of the United States. LAS VEGAS – Sony debuted its newest PlayStation Vita shooter, Unit 13, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012). Shipping on March 6, the game offers 36 missions playable in single player or co-op, along with dynamic versions of those missions; plus nine HVT missions to unlock and share via near; six different operatives; 10 levels per operative that unlock new abilities, weapons and equipment; plus the daily challenge missions and leaderboards for all 36 single player and co-op missions. LAS VEGAS – Baseball started early at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012).  Sony Computer Entertainment America featured its first PS Vita sports title, MLB 12 The Show, at its booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The latest installment of the number-one selling and rated Major League Baseball game franchise introduces cross-platform gameplay. Gamers who own both the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game can use the cloud to save and progress through the game’s options. LAS VEGAS -- Executives from business, government, entertainment, automotive, consumer electronics and every major industry converged on the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) to experience new ways of doing business at the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow. LAS VEGAS -- The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has officially put the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) into the record books as the largest in the show's 44 year history, with 1.861 million net square feet of exhibit space. The previous record was 1.857 million net square feet of space at the 2008 International CES. Owned and produced by CEA, CES 2012, the world's largest tradeshow for consumer technology, runs January 10 through January 13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sony has a huge booth this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, and if you're wandering around the Central Hall, it's almost impossible to miss it.  Taking part of the action this year is the PlayStation Vita, which is set to launch next month.  The handheld has left us impressed in a number of areas, but it's with one particular demonstration that it really blew us away -- Wipeout 2048.

LAS VEGAS -- Sony had a huge portion of its Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012) booth dedicated to its new PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) device and games. The game maker has partnered with Taco Bell for a new "Unlock the Box" promotion to give away one PS Vita portable entertainment system for every 15 minutes to consumers beginning January 26, 2012. Fans will have the chance to win a PS Vita before it becomes available in U.S. stores on February 22, 2012, exclusively through Taco Bell.
