“TALKING POINT ” COLUMN IS NOW A TEMPORARY DISCUSSION FORUM

As the elections fever heats up in Sierra Leone, we know that many of you , our valued readers, would like to start expressing your opinions about matters of national interest. It has come to our notice , however, that  there is a certain forum online where the image of our beloved country,Sierra Leone, is being deliberately destroyed by some wicked and unscrupulous  Sierra Leoneans. Even though it is true that our nation still faces some daunting challenges , as former British Premier , Tony Blair , said recently : SIERRA LEONE STILL HAS MANY THINGS TO CELEBRATE. This newspaper thinks that we have made some decisive and concrete progress socio-economically and politically.  It is not all doom and gloom as some  people want the world to believe . The aim of some of our online forum is to damage the national interest of our country in the international world, discourage intervention from stakeholders and donor agencies , frighten investors and tourists with a view to bringing the country to its knees after which they will make the country ungovernable and then take over or force a regime change. We must not allow this to happen. Sierra Leone is our nation and we must help her develop not allow her to  slip back into chaos.

We are temporarily turning the TALKING POINT Column of the newspaper into a discussion forum accomodating your views. Please stay away from defamatory and unsubstantiated allegations and incitement of the public and RATHER  discuss  issues of national interest with a view to proferring solutions .  We will have a moderator to introduce topics from newspapers and some online forums. You can also introduce topics for discussion. THE FORUM IS ALL YOURS’. GO ON AND SPEAK OUT:
