Eyewitness News | 29 April 2011 It is official - the future king of England Prince William has married Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey. The Archbishop of Canterbury took the couple through their vows.

Millions watched on TV, listened on radio or gathered outside the venue as Prince William married Kate.
 
There was great anticipation as Middleton revealed her wedding dress as she boarded a Rolls Royce to take her to the Abbey.

Bells have been chiming at Westminster Abbey and crowds have been cheering and waving their British flags in the streets outside.

The day began with guests arriving at the church among them politicians, foreign royalty, celebrities and sports stars.

Once the wedding is over, the newly married Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will make their way to Buckingham Palace.

They will appear in the balcony at Buckingham Palace at 2.25pm South African time where the couple will wave at their fans.
