New Evangelizers

One of the happiest circumstances of my life was the day I decided to take a road trip to Southern California to attend the “Podcast Expo”. I made the decision on a whim after hearing two of my favorite podcast hosts, Greg and Jennifer Willits (then of The Rosary Army, now of The Catholics Next Door), speaking about the event on their podcast. I swallowed the fear I felt inside and took the road trip that would turn out to be a major turning point in my life. That weekend I met not only the Greg and Jennifer, but also Fr. Roderick Vonhogen of SQPN, my friend Captain Jeff Nielsen, Father Jay Finelli, Paul Camarata, Scott Maentz, and a slew of other people who would soon become some of my best friends and my greatest role models.
What Greg and Jennifer (and the rest of that crazy crew) were doing back then was unmistakeably responding to the call to the New Evangelization…using new technology and new ideas to respond in a new way to an age old calling. And since that time, Greg and Jennifer have remained at the forefront of the New Evangelization as their work has blossomed to video work, satellite radio, and authorship of an upcoming book. So their New Year’s launch of a brand new apostolate is simply a continuation of their efforts. But the joy of NewEvangelizers.com is that it enables us to join them in sharing our passion for Catholicism with others. Under the umbrella of New Evangelizers, we find six unified ministries committed to helping us to know the truth of our faith, to more fully live our Baptismal calling, and to share the promise of our faith with others.
When Greg and Jennifer launched New Evangelizers at the beginning of this new year, they gave us a great gift: the support we need to share our precious faith with the world around us. Another awesome gift—one I’ve been waiting for a few years now to see—was the release of a brand new episode of their awesome series “That Catholic Show”. Today, I invite you to watch this awesome video, to visit NewEvangelizers.com, and to carefully pray about and respond to your personal call to the New Evangelization.

How interesting! I just stumbled on this show when I was searching “Rosary Army” because I remembered the Willits from “The Catholics Next Door” radio show. It’s full of excitement and passion for the faith. I liked the history and background info…and ideas on how to apply the faith. I am excited about evangelization. May God reveal our talents and may we put it to use in Jesus name! Amen!
Thanks for sharing! This is great. I know that as Catholics we need to embrace the technology and become better about sharing our faith through it. I know many Mormons who are very good at doing this through blogs, webinars, websites, videos, etc.
I just heard about New Evangelizer this morning at my bible study. I fully agree that we, Catholics, should use every means to get the message of Jesus and His Church out to others. Just this past weekend my son, who is a student at Franciscan University of Steubenville, made a video responding to another youtube video called “Why I Hate Religion but Love Jesus”. It saddened him to think so many young people were hearing this young man’s opinion and believing it. He wanted them to hear the truth. It took courage, a leap of faith, and a lot of prayer but he was able to evangelize to so many mislead people. As his mother, I am very proud of him and he continues to be a wonderful example to me. His video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iqcrQYQTQs. It made me realize as you stated in your video that there are many ways to reach others and we should use technology and other means whenever necessary. Thank you for posting. Look forward to following your site.
