Disney Universe Jungle Book DLC does not have Don Karnage

Sorry, Disney Universe Jungle Book costume DLC pack, but what are you doing? TaleSpin is still the coolest thing to come out of the Jungle Book setting. Yes, the little costumes in this three-buck pack -- featuring man-cub Mowgli, Shere Khan the tiger, Louie the ape, Bagheera the panther and a baby elephant -- are cute, and kids will probably love them.

But nothing compares to the classic early '90s cartoon series that re-imagined the lovable Baloo as a down-on-his-luck seaplane pilot, Louie as the owner of his favorite watering hole (get it?), and Shere Khan as a sharply-dressed and golden-voiced business cat. Until you've got elements that play on Cheers, old adventure movies, and an alternate postware timeline, you just enjoy your lower place on the list of cool Jungle Book tie-ins.

Prototype comic series available digitally next month

If you need to be reminded about Prototype 2 periodically -- by, say, a tie-in iOS app or another promotional item -- we've got great news. Dark Horse will publish a bi-weekly comic series starting February 15.

The first issue, "The Anchor," catches up with Prototype 1's Alex Mercer. The second, "The Survivors," focuses on a few New York residents trying to get out of the city. And the third introduces Prototype 2 protagonist Sgt. James Heller.

The comics will be sold through digital.darkhorse.com. If these are successful, they might continue with all your favorite comic book tropes, like the universe-rebooting event and the Alien and Predator crossovers.

Do a spin kick with classic SSX character Zoe Payne

When she's not busy shredding the slopes and jumping out of planes, SSX veteran Zoe Payne is doing spin kicks and ... probably hanging out at Hot Topic or something?

Q.U.B.E. being prototyped for iOS, Mac and OnLive versions on the way

Not a PC owner? Take heart, because the folks behind the Indie Fund's first release, Q.U.B.E., are already hard at work on bringing the game to a platform more accessible to you. "We're currently prototyping an iOS version, and a Mac version has been in the works for two months now," Toxic Games managing director and co-founder Daniel Da Rocha told Joystiq by email earlier today. The game is also planned for an OnLive release in the not so distant future. "Hard to say right now, hopefully Q1 2012," Da Rocha said.

As for an Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Network port of the already profitable game, that concept is a bit more nebulous. "We would love to go in that direction," Da Rocha told us. "It's all dependent on how well the PC version does." You heard him, folks! Get crackin'!

PSN Tuesday: Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted 3 DLC

OK, let's see if we can encapsulate all the stuff on PSN today. Retail games Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Crysis 2, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent are now downloadable. Amy and PSN-exclusive Zack Zero launched. Uncharted 3 DLC brings four additional multiplayer maps.

Discounts on existing PSN content include the 12 for 12 sale and half off all of the "Neo Geo Station" content -- including the bundle pack containing all of it.

In the world of free content, a timely demo for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning joins an oddly timed demo for Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. You can check the PlayStation Blog for the expansive list of PSN content this week.

Uncharted 3 DLC map pack available to Fortune Hunters today, more teased

A new DLC pack for Uncharted 3 is available today for members of the "Fortune Hunters' Club," the season pass solution for Nathan Drake's latest adventure. Today's pack includes the Cave, Fort, Lost City, and Sanctuary maps, all reworked from past versions with new lighting, textures, and terrain and weather effects. If you haven't yet bought in to the FHC, the pass is available on PSN now for $24.99.

And if that's not enough, Sony is looking to sweeten the pot a bit further. Originally, the pass was going to allow access to seven different packs (four map releases and three new packs of character skins), but now that number has doubled to 14 packs of content over the next year, all included in that same $24.99 price. All we've got about the new DLC so far is that teaser image above, which shows series baddie Lazarević, along with Flynn and Eddy. Fans are guessing it's villians-based co-op content.

Next up for DLC is three character skin packs, with two focusing on Uncharted's rogues gallery, and one featuring alternate skins for the heroes. A release date for those, as well as more DLC info, will be available from Sony soon.

Ubisoft shutters Vancouver studio

Ubisoft's studio in Vancouver, previously known as Action Pants, has been shut down by the publisher. The Vancouver studio was responsible for the publisher's Pure Futbol and Academy of Champions: Soccer. Don't feel bad if you've never heard of either before -- we had to dig deep to find a mention.

"Unfortunately, we haven't found the right formula for success for the talented team there," Ubi told Game Informer. "We thank our Vancouver team for their hard work and the projects that they have delivered."

Ubi said team members will have the opportunity to consider positions at other Ubisoft studios. We're sure Toronto, Quebec or Montreal could always use the help pushing out this year's Assassin's Creed (with soccer-based tower defense minigame).

Save on MW3, Xbox Live subscriptions at GameStop starting tomorrow

GameStop has discounted what we can only describe as an intimidating number of recent and popular releases, including Once Upon a Monster, Need for Speed The Run, Lord of the Rings: War in the North, and ... just go browse. It's a lot of stuff.

It'll be more stuff tomorrow. An email from the retailer let us know that starting tomorrow, Modern Warfare 3 will bear a $10 discount, and one-year Xbox Live Gold subscriptions (normally $60) will be discounted to $40. Perhaps you're a member of the tiny niche audience who is interested in these items; if so, these deals should help!

Planning to attend GDC? If you are, you'll get to see everyone's favorite design director of Epic Games, Cliff Bleszinski, host the 12th annual Game Developers Choice Awards, replacing Double Fine's Tim Schafer as host. The Independent Games Festival Awards is kicking it old-school with 2007-2009's host, Andy Schatz of Monaco, winner of the Seumas McNally Grand Prize and Excellence in Design awards in 2010's IGF.

Peruse the list of finalists for both award shows right here, and look for winners to be announced March 7 from GDC.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo available now on XBL; PSN and PC coming today

The demo for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is available now on Xbox Live, with the PC and PSN versions coming later today.

The first reason to check out the demo is to finally get some hands-on time with this new RPG from Big Huge Games. We've had some good experiences with it in our demo sessions.

Another reason to try out the game is to unlock two items for use in BioWare's Mass Effect 3. Playing the demo will unlock the close-combat focused Reckoner Knight Armor and Chakram Launcher with explosive ammunition discs.
