Yeah, he just cost himself a couple hundred grand(if not millions) for doing that. I hope his addiction is worth it.
Yeah, because if a guy has a problem and then can't stay on the field because he gets 4 game suspensions that makes your franchise look bad. Usually giving someone who is an addict tons of money ends up exacerbating the problem.
Some will, some won't. Also can change on a case by case basis. If one of the teams that will happens to be the team that would draft said player, yeah, he could drop.
killa_kenny posted: Do teams actually drop people on their board because of marijuana? LOL [hr][/blockquote] It's more dropping on the draft board because they clearly aren't that intelligent if they managed to get caught and arrested. The teams probably can put up with smoking as long as you aren't an even bigger idiot and get caught.
Some say that Pot isn't as bad compared to cigs (although I won't know, since I don't smoke), but it's still an illegal drug in most states and is also a banned substance in the NFL - and what happens when you get caught with a banned substance in your system during the season? --------------->
you sound like my old HS teacher, you do realize maybe 35-40 percent of the players be smokin' dem tweeds, but most of them keep it on the down low.
I was only talking about the "addiction" part. Haterslayer is acting like he knows everything about this kid. Pretty funny.
If anything all this does is help cement Claiborne in being the first corner off the board. I don't think it will hurt him too much.
It's illegal for recreational use in all states and illegal entirely as per federal law. I think a first time offense gets you a four game suspension and a second offense is a year, but I could be wrong.
If it results in a Super Bowl, he could kill a man for all I care. Throw his ass in jail and then let him ball out on the field when he gets out.
He's falling all the way to the bottom of the 3rd round where he'll get drafted with the Raiders compensatory pick
If he can't leave that stuff alone for the 4 months between the end of the college season and the draft then there is a good chance that he's addicted.
I'd say it's a lot more likely he's an idiot then addicted. Probably thought he wouldnt get checked at this time.
What? Getting caught with marijuana is detrimental to your future whether you're a prospect for the NFL Draft or not. It's just a risk that comes with it, doesn't mean he is "addicted." Weed is hardly addictive
i wouldn't draft a guy like dez bryant, because he has a whole bunch of issues. and he's also a genuine a hole. But Dre made one dumb mistake. big whoop. even if he gets suspended for 4 games, im taking him errytime.
BJ Raji tested positive for weed at the combine and it didn't affect his draft stock at all. There's WAY too many teams that need corner for him to fall.
Come on man. I honestly just think he doesn't care/think enough. You know how 80% of college athletes are.
