Version 10 of CyberLink’s PowerDirector software is released
CyberLink PowerDirector 10 Ultra is now available from Gem Distribution with an MSRP of £79.99. For those who can’t guess from the title, this is video-editing software that you can use to create and edit movies on your PC.
Since the last edition, it’s seen a speed increase for its video rendering engine – which means watching video on it should be faster and smoother than before.
It features OpenCL support, which uses the power of your computer’s GPU and applies it to 48 video effects to further speed things up and features Intelligent SVRT.
PowerDirector 10 also has over 200 creative tools. There are a huge variety of tools, transitions and effects that you can use for editing video and audio on its flexible 100-track timeline. Core tools allow you to crop and rotate videos or precisely trim video. Zoom-in Cut enables you to edit right down to a single frame.
Beat Marker can be used to analyse your soundtrack and place markers at major beat points so that you know where to place transitions and effects, while Keyframe Control lets users edit all their effects in a single setting for synchronisation.
The software now supports third-party plug-ins too, giving users a wider choice of tools. It includes ten built-in video effects from integrated effects provider NewBlue.
It’s also possible to animate drawings using PowerDirector 10 Ultra. Hand-drawn work can be recorded and integrated into video projects, and slowed down or sped up if necessary.
DirectorZone is a video-editing community site where PowerDirector users can go to share tips, learn new methods for editing efficiently and create with other video editors. It also offers customised effects, templates, tutorials and DVD menus that can be downloaded for free.
PowerDirector 10 Ultra works on Windows 7/Vista/XP(XP Service Pack 2 is required for HDV capture) and it requires at least 5GB hard disk space.
