• Summary: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to the previous game in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, with a campaign storyline continuing the struggle of U.S. forces against an invasion by the Russian Federation following the framing of an undercover U.S. agent in a terrorist attack on Moscow. Together with classic Call of Duty multi-character control, Modern Warfare 3 contains deep multiplayer support, including two-player Co-op Survival mode. The game also contains all-new Kill Streak categories and customizable strike packages that offer more options for player combat styles and strategies. Expand

Modern Warfare 3 concludes the trilogy with a solo campaign that goes beyond my expectations, and a multiplayer with subtle yet efficient revisions. It boasts better balancing and takes into account the supportive players more than ever compared to the regular solo guns blazing hero. Quite comprehensive, it also re-introduces the beloved Spec Ops mode, and the launch of Call of Duty Elite grants him the best available service in that category. Even though in terms of production values, and scope of the competitive multiplayer, Battlefield 3 harms Activision's champion, it remains a title that is firmly anchored to its traditional strengths, and doesn't get lazy. The lovers will be ecstatic, the haters gonna hate.

Modern Warfare 3 is perfection when it comes to story and gameplay, and it's only going to get better as more DLC arrives and the game is refined and balanced as the designers analyze real-time data from all the matches being played.

Modern Warfare 3 doesn't reinvent gunpowder, but sticks to the recipe of the previous games in the series. With a decent story and good multiplayer it's a game worth playing, but the lack of willingness to add improvements in gameplay show a laziness often found in a complacent game series.

  1. Before i start the review for this game i would like to address the feud between the the COD and BF, both great games and real heavyweights of the game industry, But! if we compare those games to any other games who came out recently they are just "solid", the game play is solid, the story is solid, the shooting is solid, overall solid games nothing too mind blowing about both of them, with that out of the way lets start the review. first the single player experience, taking place in Africa Europe and the US the game really takes you for a ride as you play the american delta force and the rogue British task force from the previous game, as far as characters go they are all pretty shallow and except the few one liners and "chargetake cover" shouts your interaction with them is kept to a minimum until the end of the game, the only note worthy character is captain price but after developing him for 4 games its not really a surprise. the very loose story is basically an excuse to take you through some really amazing set pieces, you will have the standard call of duty mash up of airstrikes and rail shooters like the last games which can be good at times but they feel redundant most of the time and even feel like they are slowing the pace of the game, for example you have a level in paris where you take control of a AC-130 and the control will rotate between your character plane taking you out of the action seeing how using the AC-130 isn't challenging like the fight that takes place on the ground at the same time. if you played the last 2 games a closure is nice but if you are looking for a deep story shooter you better wait for something else. Of course the focus of the game is the multiplayer, it didn't change much from what iv'e see they added a new game mode or 2 but nothing groundbreaking again the multiplayer is solid, it was good in the previous games and it retains the same standards here, the multiplayer is very fast paced and "arcady" like iv'e come to expect from COD. like i said it a solid game if you like the previous games this is pretty much more of the same for better or worst. 2. First off, I strictly play multiplayer, so this review DOES NOT reflect campaign in anyway. I think that MW3 is a hard for people that got bored of MW2, because it is so very similar. Even the trucks have the same logo like MW2, same font even on all things. With the addition of the theater type mode, and voting on maps in the lobby, it in someways reflects Black Ops. I think the game could of went far and beyond what it is, but it is just an average sequel. I see it as an expensive map-pack with some extra few goodies thrown in there. Expand

  3. Just bought MW3, and I got screwed out of $60. Nothing has changed from MW2. The online game is a simple map pack for MW2. All the same problems- horrible networking, glitching, snipe, reloading, etc, except now the graphics are also outdated because they're from 4 years ago when MW2 was released. They didn't even bother changing little things, like the blowing up into dollars shtick that happens when you get shot. [This programmer www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ7SE_14Ayg makes a claim that the little mods and voices added for MW3 were actually included in the programming for MW2, just locked!] But you're forced to buy it because they hype this POS up all over and suddenly everyone has switched. Don't listen to magazines with paid off reviewers. I've been playing fps since wolfenstein and goldeneye on n64, and this is the biggest **** ripoff of a game I've ever seen. Someone should class action sue them. Expand
