Summary

Responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of the Square Enix Platform database infrastructure. Work as a member of the Technology team to ensure production-level database performance and availability. On call as needed to support any service incidents.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish procedures for database security, backup replication recovery, and the use of database utilities

Product Manager - Marketing

Summary

The Product Manager is expected to manage the marketing of software in all areas of the product marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage products through their entire lifecycle from early design phase through post-launch, managing the P&L; and brand plan

Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Summary

Online Community Specialist

Summary

Summary

Producer - F2P

Summary

The Producer - F2P will be responsible for all aspects of external production from managing teams to internal planning and communication throughout the company.

Senior Cloud and MMO Gaming Engineer

Summary

This is the first and most senior position on a brand new engineering team at Square Enix America. Utilizes experience with high volume product lines on cloud services to make the right technology choices for Company's MMO, Free to Play and Mobile game titles. The person in this position comes in on the ground floor of large acquisition projects and engineers solutions that scale on demand, up to tens of millions of users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with other engineering teams to design and build a complex ecosystem that hosts customer facing games and provides internal business critical features (from a computing menagerie that includes Server, Storage, Network, DB, Web, E-commerce, Security, CDN and Cloud technologies)
  • Recommend scalable solutions, both in-house and third party, and implement them transparently to current operations
  • Analyze the technical challenges behind new business partnerships and property acquisitions
  • Integrate new product lines securely and reliably into current architecture

Sr. Product Marketing Manager – MMO/PC Gaming Platforms

Summary

The Sr. Product Marketing Manager will focus on developing, producing, and marketing gaming experiences on MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) and PC Gaming platforms. This person is a platform expert inclusive of industry, consumer and competitive trends who develops marketing strategies and lead cross-functional teams to deliver marketing campaigns that drive game revenues through single download, subscription and free-to-play business models. Able to work with external agencies and our internal interactive marketing and PR teams to deliver community and content strategies; insuring timely execution of community development goals. Works closely with game producers and developers to impact game quality and consumer interaction with marketing messages within game-play. Lastly, as the primary point of contact to outside platform partners, insures communications, understands partner goals, execution of joint objectives and partner satisfaction to secure best possible exposure for titles and participation in all relevant partner programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing strategies within the MMO and PC gaming (Steam, Valve, Direct to Drive/Gamefly, Impulse, Amazon) space
  • Perform strategic analysis using all available sources of information (consumer & competitive insights, research data, industry sources), to support the decision-making process and strategic direction of the marketing department. Review proposed titles suggested by Business Development or other departments for marketing feasibility and determining support levels
  • Develop and optimize sales of single download games and micro-transactions of downloadable content that adds value to game play. Develop pricing promotions, campaigns, and other advertising vehicles; working with sales to insure timely pricing submissions
  • Develop and manage asset library for assigned titles. Oversee creation and delivery of assets (trailers, screen shots, logos, etc.) by working with internal departments and external vendors as required. Deliver assets to internal partner organizations and external partners when necessary
  • Recommend optimal investment of company resources in content, technology and platforms. Work collaboratively with Business Development team to procure IP for the company
  • Manage and optimize marketing budgets. Help analyst forecast by providing industry and product insights and estimates

  • Demonstrated experience bringing the "voice of the customer" to life through primary and secondary research

Micro-Transaction Specialist

Summary

The Micro-Transaction Specialist is responsible for creating the overall monetization strategy for our free to play MMO games. They will analyze game data and utilize consumer psychology to optimize game revenue. They will also provide feature recommendations, quantitative as well as qualitative analysis, and business model know-how all the way from the conceptualization to the maintenance phases of a game's life cycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Envision, build, and propose product features and business models designed to drive consumer engagement and monetization objectives for our online games using an analytically supported reasoning
  • Take ownership of pricing strategy and conceptualization of virtual items
  • Optimize pricing for in-game items to overall revenue
  • Work closely with development studios and stakeholders
  • Project management and follow up for micro-transaction related business objectives
  • Virtual item conceptualization to drive and maximize profit
  • Generate and execute promotions and sales to increase consumer interest in virtual items using game data and market research
  • Evaluate existing strategies and make recommendations for adjustments
  • Forecast P&L; for proposals and ROI optimization
  • Other duties as required

Senior Product Manager - Marketing

Summary

The Product Manager is expected to manage the marketing of software in all areas of the product marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage products through their entire lifecycle from early design phase through post-launch, managing the P&L; and brand plan
  • Work closely with Dept Manager/Director on brand development and management. Assist in defining product features and direction, establishing long-term goals and brand metrics for success
  • Develop and implement strategic product position, define and set budgets with Dept Manager/Director, create marketing plans, and collaborate for all other cross-functional teams to deliver a fully integrated product launch
  • Work closely with development teams on product positioning, features, enhancements, and timelines–utilizing market research and other analysis to aid in the development of existing brands and new products
  • Plan and develop marketing communications, creative briefs, advertising, promotional and PR programs to enhance sales of product(s). This will include consulting with management and other Square Enix subsidiaries and working directly with outside agencies in strategic planning, creative execution and media planning
  • Provide strategic and creative direction to implement packaging, point of purchase and sales collateral design and production while working with outside vendors and internal creative services
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to define product positioning, as well as monitor competitive activity, marketing campaign metrics, and identify consumer needs, including post-mortems on releases
  • Manager vendor/developer relationships including communication, working with Legal and Business Development on licensing, acquiring approvals, and relationship development
  • Manage, direct and train the other members of the product management team which includes personnel at the Associate, Assistant and Coordinator level
  • Other related duties as required

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred or equivalent experience required.)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of marketing consumer brands and 2+ years of product management at a major game publisher preferred
  • Solid training in brand and/or product marketing. (package goods a plus)
  • Must have led the development of marketing campaign(s), including strategic development and planning, packaging, leading internal teams and working with external vendors
  • Must have vendor/agency management experience, particularly pertaining to the launch of new products
  • Must have a detailed understanding of media, its role within a games marketing campaign, and experience with "core gamer" targeted brands
  • Ability to lead teams to set and achieve products' goals and objectives, without direction reports. Ability to maintain strict confidentially with privileged information, work well with others, handle a high-pressure environment and make sound and timely decisions in fast paced situations
  • Demonstrated management and coaching skills for subordinates
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment which includes both North American functional counterparts and Japanese based production and marketing personnel
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills required. Must be articulate and professional
  • Basic understanding of game development preferred
  • Prior experience in a Japanese videogame company and/or Japanese language skills preferred, but not required
  • Exposure to both US and international marketplaces a plus
  • Flexibility with working hours is a plus due to time zone differences with key contacts
