Extended Information

BLEACH follows the story of Ichigo Kurosaki. For as long as he can remember, Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see ghosts. But when he meets Rukia, a Soul Reaper who battles evil spirits known as Hollows, he finds his life is changed forever. Now, with a newfound wealth of spiritual energy, Ichigo discovers his true calling: to protect the living and the dead from evil. And when he vows to defend Rukia from the ruthless justice of the Soul Society, he and his friends must cross over and do battle in the spirit world...

The Bleach animated series is based upon the Japanese comic written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. Bleach animated series centers around a 15 year old teenager, Ichigo Kurosaki. Ichigo Kurosaki has an amazing ability to see ghosts. His mother has died and he lives with his father, along with two younger sisters. His father is a doctor and runs a clinic. Seeing ghosts was ordinary for Ichigo, but when he encounters a Soul reaper, Rukia Kuchiki, his life takes a deep turn. It turns out that Rukia was trying to save Ichigo from an evil ghost known as a Hollow. In the ensuing battle, Rukia gets badly injured and has no choice but to transfer her powers to Ichigo. Unfortunately, Ichigo consumes most of Rukia's powers and becomes a Soul reaper and thwarts the hollow. Next day, Ichigo sees that the former Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki has enrolled in Ichigo's school in a gigai form /temporary form. In the upcoming episodes, we see that not only Ichigo has amazing powers but also his friends including Orihime Inoue, Chad Yasutora and the last survivor of the Quincy clan, Uryu Ishida.

The Bleach animated series currently (10/28/11) has 345 episodes and each episode is aired weekly at a Japanese channel called TV Tokyo. Bleach also has four animated films in its credit. Bleach: Memories of Nobody, Bleach: Diamond Dust Rebellion, Bleach: Fade to Black: Kimi no Na wo Yobu and Bleach: The Hell Verse.

Many computer games are also based upon the Bleach Animated series and mostly the games are released on Sony's Playstation Portable.
