I’m not big on celebrating holidays, especially Christmas. The tedious task of decorating is a major turn-off, and not that I don’t enjoy the decorations but somebody eventually has to take them down. That’s me. This year I found the solution to my decorating woes; I would fill my Minecraft world with several Christmas themed modifications while blindly justifying to my family that it’s as good as real ornaments.
HerSommer A Christmas Carol Texture Pack (by DerSommer): Cubes have a gooey cinnamon roll appearance, trunks of trees look like candy-canes, food looks like gingerbread cookies, and Endermen are dressed as Santa Claus in this Christmas-themed Minecraft texture pack from DerSommer. As a reminder, the Endermen do not want you sitting on their laps.

Christmas Mobs Texture Pack (by DylanOgle2): If you don’t want your world to be filled with candy-cane trees and delicious looking dirt but still would love to beat down a Santa-Claus creeper then this mod is for you. Maintaining all the default textures for the environment, it only dresses the monsters up for the holidays. Candy cane skeletons, Enderman as reindeer, spiders with santa hats and Creepers in their fashionable brown sweater and an eerie smile; what more could you want?

Christmas Village (by jtblion): My next find was a Minecraft map of small village that screamed of Christmas jubilee providing small homes to barricade yourself in case of zombie invasions and a lovely tree to fill your world with holiday cheer. If you’re not a fan of the small village but still desire a tree of your own, I recommend downloading this Christmas Tree mod that provides timber you need.

Christmas Lights (by Conquer): Add some festivity to your home decorating by making your very own Christmas lights. Coming in the “classic” colors blue, red, green and yellow, these lights only required Redstone to be crafted. Maybe the monsters of Minecraft will visit your home not to ransack it, but to adore the fabulous light display you’ve created. The recipes can be seen in the thumbnails below.

Santa Mountain (by Leefield): Avoid getting on the naughty list this year by putting a tribute to Santa in your Minecraft world. Santa Mountain is a custom world that features a gigantic statue of old Saint Nick going through a chimney. This is a great alternative to actually taking your kids to the local mall to see Santa. just don’t let them find out that the statue is hollow and there is a hidden door beneath his beard, leading to a large cavern; we wouldn’t want to ruin someone’s childhood.
