IGN GamerMetrics™ Overview

Welcome to IGN's GamerMetrics™.

IGN's GamerMetrics™ is an interactive reporting tool designed to help you analyze and understand the individual gaming consumer and the gaming community as a whole.

Know Your Audience — Manage Your ROI

IGN created GamerMetrics™ to help you develop and maintain ongoing analyses of the online gaming community, its members, and its subsections. Using GamerMetrics™, you'll be able to track the online activity, preferred gaming environments, and demonstrated interests of the gaming audience - even as it develops and changes.

Not just a reporting tool that provides page view data, GamerMetrics'™ robust capabilities allow you to track actual gamer behavior according to individual wish lists, requested email alerts, game ownership, and more. You'll be able to see what's working to create a buzz — and use that information to keep your multimedia communications campaigns on the right track for a successful release.

Whether you want to research by demographic, platform, game, or other criterion, GamerMetrics™ gives you the complete picture, the way you need to see it.

At a glance, you can glean pertinent audience information, such as:
  • Age group favorites, ranked by platform, game, publisher or other criteria
  • Top games as determined by Gamestats.com's GPM rating
  • Upcoming releases
  • Trends: which games and genres are gaining ground and which are easing off
  • Side-by-side activity analysis of two or more games

How GamerMetrics™ Works

GamerMetrics™ compiles all the gaming community information you need in one place. And our extra layer of functionality — sorting information by demographic group — places the power of that distinct knowledge in your hands. Using the various sections of GamerMetrics™ (Dashboard, Gamer Panel, Games List, and Game Details), you can break out information and view data, from the big picture right down to the most granular detail.

The Big Picture...
  • Use GamerMetrics'™ dashboard to get an immediate overview of the gamer community, including Most Active Games, Upcoming Releases, Top 10 Games by GPM, Most Active Bulletin Boards, and My Games (specific games you want to track).
...and the Details
  • Click on the Games List to search for specific games by genre, platform, publisher, or release date.
  • Click on the Gamer Panel tab to research gamer behavior broken down by age group, number of games owned, platform, and more.
  • Click on the Game Details tab to track a specific game's performance, with data broken out by time-lined charts reflecting interest, page views, and more.

The Bottom Line

Simply put, IGN and GamerMetrics™ give you the power to know your audience: to track, analyze, and forecast its behaviors — and to take action accordingly.
