Black Ops 2 A Possibility

IGN reports that Activision has purchased blackops2.com, which could be an indication that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is on the table. Fusible notes that the domain is owned by MarkMonitor, a company that secures domains for Fortune 100 companies, such as Activision. It may seem like a bit of a stretch, but give than Black Ops sold over 14 million copies, it's certainly a possibility.

I enjoyed Black Ops story/setting a lot. Not going to buy another Call of Duty game unless there is a new engine, dedicated servers, Punkbuster anti cheat, and basic PC features such as FOV options and DX10/11 support.

None of that shit is going to happen so nope.

Who'd have guessed? A brand new bestest game ever for the kids, even best-ier than the most bestest game ever that currently there is... MW3.

I bet this time they will put in a brand new perk, a new gun or even a whole new map to this masterpiece of shit. We used to get bigger free patches with more improvements packed in them than the annual CoD sequel now.

Is it too early to start a countdown clock?

9.5 months and counting till the next Call of Duty is released.

Over 14 million is quite an old statistic. Half a year ago Activision announced that Black Ops had sold over 25 million copies.

But I kind of liked the SP campaign of Black Ops. I'm not sure if I wanted Treyarch to try something new or continue with Black Ops but I guess it makes financial sense now that they finally managed to score a product that rivals IW games in sales.

An inebriated treyarch employee basically confirmed this to me at the Call of Duty XP event.
