For his pre-fall collections, Alexander Wang has decided to stick with what he does best—things that are quite sheer. They can be found in the trusty T line, where this season there's a bevy of buttonups to choose from, alongside the see-through tees. Over in Collection, office/school-girl vests and jackets have the occasional translucent patch, there are burnout lace-pattern dresses showing more skin than lace, and even the line's footwear incorporates the theme, with pointy-toe boots that have a meshy leg to them.
Click through the gallery above for some of Wang's staple looks for pre-fall, and then head to American Apparel to buy a bunch of tank tops to wear under it all, unless you think a fancy bra will do just as well.

Two dresses from Doo-Ri Chung's capsule collection for Macy's Impulse
Despite the hooha high-low designer collabs have been known to cause, the actual clothing doesn't always translate into real life, so much. So it's nice to note that Doo-Ri Chung's capsule for Macy's Impulse is not just pleasantly affordable, it's also totally wearable.
If you blink, you might just miss the bulk of the above teaser video for Victoria Beckham's first collection of her diffusion line, Victoria by Victoria Beckham. As of now, it's only clear what one of the dresses looks like, and it's safe to say that it's very unVIctoria Beckham. It's loose, there are three tiers of bright colors, and we don't see a Louboutin in sight.
On Monday, the full short film will be shown in the windows at Harvey Nichols in London, and we hear that Victoria herself makes a cameo in it, but what we really want to know is if David and his abs will share the spotlight in a supporting role. The Telegraph reports that the "affordable sister line" will still be kind of pricey: Dresses will retail between $780 to $1,250, but that's still far cheaper than a $30,000 bag.

Net-a-Porter is pretty confident it won't. A spokesperson told us:
We pride ourselves on meeting tremendous demand on a daily basis. Introducing a brand like KARL is likely to generate unprecedented traffic so we have strengthened the measures we take to protect against lapses in service and have high hopes that we will be able to provide a seamless customer experience for all those wishing to buy from the collection.
Sigerson Morrison has been on a brief hiatus, and WWD even goes as far as to say that the brand "mysteriously disappeared last fall." After the company's founders Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison exited last March, things on the SM front have been a little quiet. Recently, however, the brand acquired Taylor Tomasi Hill as its creative consultant, who has been busy "refreshing" the line and producing upcoming online editorial content for the website, which is currently on a hiatus of its own.
The first collection that Tomasi worked on for the brand is the upcoming pre-fall line, but since spring (deliveries) are right around the bend, we think it's as good a time as any to oggle the shoes that will be hitting the shelves this spring. Take a look at the Sigerson Morrison collection above, and check out the Belle line after the jump.
The collection doesn't hit stores until June, well after Coachella's last joint will have been smoked, but it's probably for the best that you don't wear your nice new clothes to sleep in a tent in the desert, anyway.

And if things start to get a bit too horizontal, also note worthy was a cute military-green windbreaker from the men's section that would be a nice contrast to all those lines.

Perhaps because Alber Elbaz looks so dashing in his glasses, Lanivn has announced that it will be launching a line of frames this spring. Considering the fact that we ourselves don't exactly have (anything close to) 20/20, we're pretty excited about the news. Have a look through the gallery above to see the different styles, and then check out the video after the jump to see what went into making them.
As January's cold-as-shit weather approaches for us here on the East Coast, we present to you the Bass Loves Rachel Antonoff spring/summer 2012 lookbook, to remind you that in a few months, you too will be able to wear these adorable shoes while riding a carousel, or just hanging around an amusement park. The upcoming collection features lots of saddle shoes, as did the previous, only this time, polka dots and clear panels are incorporated. Check out the lookbook in the gallery above.

Katy Perry's forays into beauty have been big hits so far--her collab with OPI launched crackle polish into the stratosphere, and her cat-themed fragrances are huge sellers. So she's keeping the beauty train going by partnering with Eylure on a line of false eyelashes. The British brand is available on Ulta.com in the States, so Katy's collection will appear there next month.
"As a false lash lover herself, Katy had a very clear idea of what she wanted to achieve and was involved in every step of the design process," a rep for Eylure said. The line will contain four eyelash sets, and we're expecting lots of glitter and crazy colors to go with the over the top outfits Perry wears on the red carpet.

Two of our girlcrushes have just collided in an amazing way: this afternoon, The Office star turned author Mindy Kaling tweeted that her friend Charlotte Ronson had named a makeup after her. She provided a link to Ronson's double-ended blusher/bronzer cream stick, which comes in two shades: one named for Kaling and one named for Saturday Night Live star (and recent red lipstick convert) Abby Elliott.
They're both listed as "coming soon," but we're already geeking out big time. If they add additional products named after Kristen Wiig and Amy Poehler, we might die of joy.

Net-a-Porter has just released three images form Karl Lagerfeld's upcoming collection, Karl, which will debut exclusively on the site on January 25th. We've already seen a short teaser video of the collection, but now it's a little more clear as to what that shiny blazer will actually look like.
Here's a few more things about it: The collection will be over 70 pieces, and the lowest-priced item is a canvas tote with Karl's face on it; "signature leather pieces" will be the most expensive, retailing at just over $1,000. According to a press release, traditional shapes will be "shaken up," and there will also be sportswear incorporating rubber patches with—guess what's making an appearance again—Karl's face. Also up for grabs: detachable collars, black wool pants with tuxedo stripes, T-shirt dresses in metallic silk, and sequined skirts and dresses.

Good news for bag fiends: Contemporary designer Phillip Lim is expanding the 31 Hour Bag beyond the classic tote into three more styles this spring.
In addition to the tote, which is already available at Barneys, the expanded 31 Hour line will feature a weekender, portfolio, and cosmetic clutch.
Karl Lagerfeld's upcoming Karl collection will debut on Net-a-Porter on January 25th, but until then, here's a teaser of what it will look like. At the Le Web 2011 conference, Lagerfeld said that with the launch, "We will make fashion and technology history." According to CNN, he also said that he'll be including "augmented reality, social media, and much more" to do so.
From what we can see from the video above, there will be more than one collar accessory and a shiny blazer or two. It seems a little similar to the idea of his Macy's collaboration, since those outfits were meant to incorporate elements of his signature style. (We could see him in those blazers.)
