The Power of India 2011

Cancellation Notice
Power of India Conference

17 NOVEMBER 2011 – The organisers of the inaugural Power of India event, The Moodie Report and Airports Council International, have decided with regret to cancel the Power of India conference that was to be held in Hyderabad on December 6-8, 2011.

“We had great ambitions for the conference but regrettably certain key speakers and several participants are unable to confirm their travel plans to the event due to various logistical and timing issues,” said The Moodie Report Chairman Martin Moodie.  “The travel retail market is emerging strongly in India and we look forward to highlighting its tremendous potential at a later date.

“We’re disappointed and apologise to those who had arrangements in place but it is the right decision in the circumstances to ensure that the impact and quality of the event was not compromised. GMR was an excellent host partner to work with and both the city of Hyderabad and its airport would have been very exciting attractions for visitors.”

ACI Director General Angela Gittens said, “We thank GMR and their entire team in Hyderabad for attempting this joint venture with us.  The Moodie Report invested a tremendous amount of time and energy on the conference program and sponsorship development. Both were excellent and we thank them as well for their hard work.”

“GMR appreciates both The Moodie Report and ACI for their sincere efforts here in India and we look forward to a future event that will showcase the power of travel retail in India on an even grander scale,” said Ramesh Krishnamurthy, Chief Commercial Officer, Hyderabad Airport.

All registration and sponsorship monies will be refunded as soon as possible and ACI members and other delegates who had registered may contact Jeremias Rodriguez at jrodriguez@aci.aero for further information.

Full reimbursements on hotel bookings will be honoured by the Novotel.
