CAMRA Club of the Year 2012
Is Your Club the Best for Real Ale in the Country?

Last Year's Winner CAMRA, The Campaign for Real Ale is asking club members and officials from all over the country to consider whether their real ale club is good enough to be considered as the CAMRA Club of the Year for 2012. To do this, it's linked up with Club Mirror - the industry magazine which has been serving the club industry for over 45 years.

John Holland, CAMRA Club of the Year Co-ordinator, said:

'CAMRA has recently entered into partnership with Club Mirror magazine to run a joint Real Ale Club of the Year competition and expect this exciting move to raise the profile of real ale in clubs even higher.'

Club Mirror reaches clubs throughout the UK - from sports clubs to working men's clubs - and will be including the CAMRA Club of the Year within its own exclusive Awards, the Club Awards 2011. Now in their 19th year, these Awards are the highlight of the club calendar.

Sean Ferris, Club Mirror Publisher, said:

'We've worked closely with CAMRA for many years now, with CAMRA helping to judge our Cask Club of the Year category at the Club Mirror's Awards. We're delighted, therefore, that we should come together to applaud cask clubs even louder in 2011.'

Mr Holland went on to say: 'The annual competition decides which clubs - out of the many hundreds across the country that serve a great pint of well-kept real ale in a convivial atmosphere - show the greatest commitment to high quality real ale.'

The 2011 winner will be announced in May, he said: 'But we're very keen to receive self-nominations for next year's competition now.'

The deadline for self-nominated entries is March 31st 2011, and the winner will be announced in spring 2012.

CAMRA believes that there are nearly 30,000 clubs that could potentially enter the competition.
