The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Sprint tipped off 2012 NBA All-Star Balloting  during a special event in Orlando, the official host city of NBA All-Star 2012. The 61st NBA All-Star Game, which will air live on TNT and ESPN Radio in the U.S., and reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories in more than 40 languages, will be played at the Amway Center on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012. Despite the lockout and the shortened season, the NBA will take a break to celebrate the biggest names in basketball. Gamers won't have to rely on 2K Sports' NBA 2K12 to simulate the celebration of basketball this year. Traditionally, EA Sports, 2K Sports and Sony PlayStation have all taken part in the All Star festivities.

As part of their ongoing collaboration, Full Sail University joined with ESPN’s Emerging Technology team and EA Sports to unveil ESPN’s newest virtual technology application: EA Sports GameView. College football analyst Desmond Howard provided a demonstration of this augmented reality, which was filmed on location at the Full Sail University Sports Lab Powered by ESPN. This new technology is airing during ESPN’s Bowl Championship Series this season, including the BCS Championship Game between LSU and Alabama.

EA Sports has used its NCAA Football 12 video game to simulate the big match-ups during Bowl Week. Kicking off with the Rose Bowl between Oregon and Wisconsin and culminating with the National Championship Game in New Orleans between LSU and Alabama. Check out video of the key match-ups below.

EA Sports rolls out the red carpet on February 2nd in Indianapolis, Indiana for Madden Bowl XVIII. One of the biggest parties of Super Bowl week gets things started before the official kickoff on Super Sunday for Super Bowl XLVI. Nas and The Roots will perform live at the party, which will take place at the Bud Light Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Once again, EA Sports will use the 3-on-3 format to allow teams of NFL pros and celebrities to face off on Madden NFL 12. The party is expected to attract NFL pros, NFL legends and many celebrities. On Saturday night during the 2011 Spike “Video Game Awards”, fans exercised their right to vote for the first-ever EA Sports digital cover athlete, choosing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for the NFL Blitz cover over fellow Pro Bowlers Roddy White and Patrick Willis. Hall of Famer Jerry Rice announced the news, revealing Ray Rice as the fan-voted winner at the end of the show. Rice talks about gaming in this exclusive video interview below from the red carpet.

The biggest transfer deal this football season sees the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2010 winner transfer to EA SPORTS and make his debut in March, 2012 on the cover of FIFA Street.
