What is the Radio 1 Movie?
The Radio 1 Movie is the multi-award winning* film directed by Scott Mills.
On May 14th and 15th 2011 Radio 1's Big Weekend took place in Carlisle. On those dates Scott asked Radio 1 listeners, DJs and music artists to film their weekend.
The Radio 1 Movie is the result, telling stories of music, love, boobs, and a dog in a sidecar!
The film stars Scott Mills, Lady Gaga, Fearne Cotton, Foo Fighters, Jessie J, Zane Lowe, Tinie Tempah, Olly Murs, Chris Moyles, Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars, Plan B, and lots of Radio 1 listeners.
Our listeners did so much to help the film, from filming to animation to ingenius promotional ideas.
The Radio 1 Movie premiered simultaneously on this website and at the first Carlisle International Film Festival on December 7th 2011. The film swept the board at the festival (which was created by Scott Mills and featured just one film) winning six awards.
Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way towards the making of the film.
The Radio 1 Movie will be available to watch in full until January 6th 2012.
