Snoop Dogg to Perform Free Bulletstorm Concert in Raleigh April 23

UNC-Chapel Hill wins the Facebook concert, bringing the rapper to Epic’s hometown
Snoop Dogg is giving a free concert in Raleigh as part of an Electronic Arts promotion for Epic Games’ Bulletstorm. Snoop will be performing at the Raleigh Amphitheater for students from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, which won the honors through a Facebook competition that EA held to promote Epic’s newest shooter, Bulletstorm, which is available for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The concert will take place within minutes of Epic’s headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, where a team worked on the game in tandem with Poland-based studio People Can Fly.

UNC beat out local rivals like NC State and Duke, as well as national competition like Columbia, USC, Texas and Clemson. Although Chapel Hill is located about 30 minutes outside of downtown Raleigh, which is home to NC State, UNC officials chose to have the concert in Raleigh over this Easter weekend.

Snoop Dogg, an avid gamer who previously worked with MTV and Global Gaming League on the Hip Hop Gaming League, has performed music for past EA games. He also took on Mike Tyson at the House of Blues in Los Angeles for the debut of Fight Night Round 4. Most recently, Snoop appeared in an ad for EA’s Facebreaker game.

Bulletstorm tells the story of Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato, ex-members of an elite military force called Dead Echo, now mercenaries on the run across the galaxy. Stranded on Stygia, a paradise lost that has been overrun by rampaging freaks, flesh-eating plants and creatures the size of skyscrapers, their main objective is to survive long enough in order to exact revenge on the one person responsible for their plight.
