Piers Morgan 'cannot reveal source of Heather Mills voicemail'

Lord Justice Leveson threatens to call Heather Mills to give evidence as Piers Morgan refuses to reveal how recordings of her voicemail messages were obtained.

Mr Morgan told the Leveson Inquiry into media ethics that he "did not believe" he had ever listened to an illegally obtained voice message.

Asked how he had found out about marriage problems between Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills, Mr Morgan admitted he "was played a tape of message which Paul had left for Heather on her answering machine." However he refused to reveal whether he had had permission to listen to it.

Mr Morgan named source confidentiality as the reason he could not give details about who had played the recording.

He later hinted that Heather Mills may have leaked the tapes to the media herself.
