Founded in 2001, RealView Innovations Ltd. is a privately-owned research and development company based near Co. Roscommon, Ireland. The company was formed by a group of specialised optical engineers after they had made a pioneering technological breakthrough. They discovered a revolutionary three-dimensional screen technology that was able to boost the perceived depth of all two dimensional screen images by enhancing depth cues hidden in the images. This technology is now patented and is commonly referred to as ‘Depth Enhancing Technology’.

Having used this technology in the medical and scientific world, RealView then received equity investment from Enterprise Ireland and from private investors in USA and Europe in order to expand its success and focus on applications for the personal entertainment and video game markets.  The first of RealView’s products to be on the market using this ‘Depth Enhancing Technology’ was the V-Screen™, an accessory for the popular Sony® PSP™ gaming console, which was successfully launched at CES in Las Vegas 2010.  In August 2010, Realview announced the launch of their much anticipated Deep Screen – a range of ‘Depth Enhancing’ screens for use on any flat screen LCD, LED and Plasma display.
